There’s definitely historical basis for your point here. But all the behaviours you describe are expressly denounced/the exact opposite is advocated for in Christianity, whereas they were a feature of the religious practices of some of the natives.

Job’s lack of complaint precludes his reward, actually. Job had no way of knowing what would come to him after God had spoken to him, whether more suffering or blessing.
