lmao that's pretty funny. he's basically taking advantage of the fake bmf belt with these twitter battles
ultimately, I think the bottom line is that Holloway is absolutely on fire right now, and topuria isn't gonna get any love from the fans if he looks shaken by the bout.
Let's see this...
Good example. Another weird one was Makachev vs Dober. Rogan talking about how Dober is 'possibly the most underrated fighter in ufc history' or something like that. Islam took him down every round and subbed him in the 3rd I believe. So... why did Rogan push all that stuff? It all equated to...
That's actually a good counter to all the BMF crap. Force the bmf to fight the champion, then he can remove any doubt about another fighter rivaling his supremacy in the division, unless they beat HIM.
Rogan's obsession with leg kicks is a great example of how lost he's become with this sport. Leg kicks are overrated. They seldom lead to a fight finish, especially in comparison to head strikes and submissions. Even body shots are more prevalent than leg kick finishes.
It's pretty obvious...
Adesanya has to get over this insecurity and accept that he's a tremendous fighter. He's spoiling the final golden years of his career by spreading salt and hatred, at a time when he can't back up his big words with success. He's losing now.
I hope he gets that sorted out. Would be a shame.
Izzy is a highly accomplished ufc fighter. It’s just that his history with pereira brings out so much insecurity in him, something that’s plagued him his whole career.
In addition, he just got dominated by Strickland, yet he thinks Strickland will rematch him lol. Izzy only has 1 more chance...
Hopefully this fight was a wakeup call for him. Move up to Welterweight. He'll probably do better.
Michel Pereira went up to middleweight and is destroying everything in his path. It's not always best to cut so much weight.
the positive would be he gets 5 round main events and title pay, so he can still benefit financially. But that doesn't make up for the fact that the most beneficial fight would be an official title fight.
I honestly don't think it works like that. But it's a gray area.
Once Jones defends against Stipe, the 'interim title' vanishes. So... Aspinall cannot be promoted to official champ, and any defenses of the 'interim title' he has vanish as well. He will have to fight another fighter for the...
It will never happen. Dana will give up eventually. Stipe vs Jones will not happen. Jones will eventually just retire and relinquish the belt. Stipe is too old to fight anymore and has a full-time firefighter career to manage.
They'll accept this reality one day.
It was indeed fight of the night.
Jiri vs Rakic was epic, but didn't even last 2 rounds, so a bit short compared to 5 rounds of war with a cherry on top finish.
Other big fights on the card were fairly one-sided (zhang, bo, etc)
The more likely truth is the opposite, actually.
Pereira is humble, classy, while also confident and assertive.
Izzy is insecure, bitter, classless... and unwilling to come to terms with the brutality of his inferiority to Alex.
Really Hill just doesn't deserve to fight Jiri. Jiri just beat Rakic and is ahead, and really should be fighting Ank next or even a title rematch.
Still, it would be a good fight. Wouldn't really hate on it. I think Hill might really begin to nosedive if he doesn't come to terms with his lack...
I thought this card had lots of bad ideas. I thought gaethje would dominate holloway.
I stand extremely corrected. The highs of the event were extraordinary. Bravo. I’m very happy to have been wrong.
