After taking a year off from training, I went back to training. Our school is functioning on a limited schedule offering only evening classes just 5 days a week. I think during the pandemic many students moved away and/or stopped training. It seems like the school is now in a bit of a rebuilding...
In the late 90s, my instructors were a brown belt and a purple belt. They were excellent instructors. If you are a good instructor, I'll learn from you regardless of what belt you are wearing.
I feel like you should figure out who you would like to get your black belt under, and then go train under that person. Simple as that. I think what you are going through is fairly common with schools closing down or people moving. Like someone said above, any school would be lucky to have you.

You can't have it both ways. If you are a brown belt that is 225 lb of solid muscle as well as a former college football player and wrestler, then it would be pretty sad if you were not dominating this purple belt. You are probably heavier, stronger, and more physically gifted than 90% of the...
Who knows? Maybe he is a good teacher. Maybe he felt pity for you and took it easy on you while rolling cause you are old and fat. My first instructors back in the day were a brown belt and a purple belt. Maybe he was being respectful as a visitor at an open mat.
I always felt it was a shame that gyms close on holidays or shut down during the holidays or summertime. I feel like those are the times when students don't have to work and can likely train even more. If anything, it would be great to have open mats during holidays or during typical school shut...
Yeah, I always thought it was a bit weird and possibly just a matter of marketing. Say you go from white to brown with instructor A,and then get black from instructor B, then your lineage is basically with instructor B despite spending probably 90% of your time with instructor A?
