How much is rent where you live?

San Diego, CA area, a little over 2k/month for a nice 1 bedroom. 10 min from the beach, 10min from an international airport, and 20 min from Mexico and a bunch of other things. Buying out here is super crazy though. You’re not getting a single family home, no matter the size for under 700k. If...

    Team Building Game at Work

I need to come up with a team building game for work tomorrow. There are going to be approximately 12 of us. Due to short notice, nothing too crazy, but interactive and fun. Open to ideas?

How much money would it take for you to add 90 minutes to your daily commute

75-100k. I just really hate commutes. Once I started living within 10 min to my job it just became so hard to go back. Right now I live 2 miles from my job. I ride a bike just to have a little time to unwind .

College degrees don't mean much anymore like they used to

In my field, Operations & Supply Chain, I’d say a degree is pretty important. I’ve seen it for years hold back people from getting into management. You either have to be outright exceptional or work two to three times longer than your competitor.

I tried to convince my wife to quit our jobs and just travel the world until we went broke.

I traveled throughout my 20s, mostly in Central & South America. One thing was always certain no matter which country I went to, you come across people who are traveling aimlessly trying to fill some sort of void in their life. While it can be an amazing adventure, most people do it with no sort...

    Top Performers

I think all of us at some point have come across someone that is a top performer. This could be in school or the work place. Having worked in management for the last 6+ years I’ve definitely come across my fair share. Right now I have a younger guy, 21 years old who works for me. He is blazing...

I don't think I can handle women anymore.

drugs and emotional instability, but then again those things pretty much go hand and hand. Nothing worse than an unstable drunk or high chic

I don't think I can handle women anymore.

In my 20s, looks was the highest priority. It wasn’t until I had a 2 year long relationship with what I deemed to be 10/10. The relationship was mostly based on physical attraction. Half way through our time together shit went downhill quick. The relationship brought me problems that I never...

Do you care about your siblings' financial stability?

I honestly don’t foresee me ever needing to do so as my sis and her husband are pretty well off and both have stable careers. Now would my sister help me if I needed it? Maaaybe. I have a good job and do well, but you never know. I think her husband would be a prick about it.

Do you get overwhelmed by nostalgia sometimes?

I chased nostalgia last year. I lived throughout many countries in S. America in my 20s. Returned to my exact stomping grounds in Chile. The feeling was totally different. Might as well have put me in a totally different country. Reliving the old days isn’t possible most of the time

Are you more of an extrovert or introvert?

I manage large teams of people and sometimes I can be in constant communication throughout a workday, but it’d say I’m more inclined as an introvert. Days where I need to communicate a ton, when I get home I just want to be alone. I find superficial, service level communication to be rather...

    Being Assertive (Management)

More of rallying the troops and motivating the group Ya man, but these meetings were all preplanned so I would have time to prepare for them. Now those meetings don’t happen due to covid and I have to have a bunch of small group meetings.

    Being Assertive (Management)

Pre Covid I’d have to do public speaking almost daily in front of 50 or so people. What’s weird is I would still get nervous doing it even though I had done it many times before. Overall I thought I did decent, but there was definitely opportunity for improvement

    Being Assertive (Management)

I’ve been working for the last 5 years in operations management. I’d like to consider myself a relative high performer based on results I’ve been able to achieve, but there are areas I know I definitely lack. One specific area is speaking up and capturing attention of the team. I’ve always been...

Went back to college bros gtfih

Completed my undergrad at 26. Unfortunately, I majored in Political Science with hopes of getting in with the federal govt. Hiring freezes and super tough competition made it difficult to get in. Went back at 32 to get my MBA in the sector I currently work in. It was one of the best decisions I...
