    $2,000 Headphones...Yay or Nay?

Not sure if anyone has brought this up; but you'll need a very high-quality amp and source setup to get anything out of a pair of LCDs. What is your listening device? Audeze makes a lower-cost unit with a lightning port and built-in DAC designed specifically for Apple products called the EL-8...

    Regarding You're own Shooting Capabilities?

I'm hopeless when it comes to high-angle shooting, I've resigned myself to the fact that I'm going to need to shell out big bucks for a class.

    Great Deals Thread

Best price Ive seen on the SSAE, thanks for the heads up.

    1911's, yeah, this again.

If you can stretch just a bit, I've always been very impressed with the E-series S&W 1911s. Pretty good price here: http://taulbeetactical.com/product.smith-wesson-1911-e-series-45-acp-5-81-crimson-trace-grip-stainless-finish

    Suggest Me a Compact AR15

Didn't even see that upper, its a steal at that price but it isn't complete, you need a bolt carrier group and a charging handle. Also keep in mind shipping and FFL fees if you buy the lower online, as it's classified as a firearm.

    Suggest Me a Compact AR15

Since your intended use is out to 100 yards, I recommend an iron-sighted model. This: http://palmettostatearmory.com/blem-psa-16-mid-length-5-56-nato-1-7-a2-premium-moe-rifle-kit.html Plus a Daniel Defense A1.5 rear sight would serve your intended purpose much better than my first...

    Suggest Me a Compact AR15

The cheapest AR deal is going to be something like Bear Creek, Century, or another unknown name using Chinese-sourced parts. I'd advise against it. Palmetto State Armory is inexpensive and provides decent quality from US-sourced parts. The combination of mid-length and no front sight post...

    What's Your Next Purchase? V5

I'd shock myself if I put more than a mag a year through the Bullseye. The Meltdown is for open and concealed carry.

    What's Your Next Purchase? V5

Put down the deposit today, I'm going with a Clark Custom Bullseye in .38 Super, with the "Ultra-brite" bluing. I also ordered a Meltdown bobtail commander in .45 with brushed chrome. So this gun: With this finish: And this gun: I can't get a pick of this one to upload, but google "clark...

Wal-mart generally has great prices online, shipping sucks, but ship-to-store is free.

    What's Your Next Purchase? V5

I like that, simple, clean, functional and cheap. The only other option is to spend nearly $300 at Bowie tactical getting the "Vickers Package". Well Done.

    What's Your Next Purchase? V5

The increased stability of the Ching and CW ( I prefer the CW personally) slings is entirely predicated on the two counterbalanced points of contact. "Safari Chings" modified 1907's, and tactical slings all lack the speed and stability a Ching sling provides. Its also worth noting that slinging...

And yes, Damascus slides are still an option. $500 and a significantly longer wait.

    What's Your Next Purchase? V5

After speaking with the guys at Clark's, I may end up going a different route. I'm thinking a no-frills Bianchi Metallic in .38 Super and a bobbed Meltdown Commander in matte stainless in .45. Seeing the polished chrome in person, its a little too bright.

    What's Your Next Purchase? V5

I'll ask when I get there, though I hear Jim will be out of town for several weeks starting Monday. They still list them as a $500 option on the website.

    What's Your Next Purchase? V5

I won't know for certain until I place the order, but I'm anticipating under $3900, which is not bad considering I'm getting a true custom 1911 for a semi-custom price. I can promise you that you won't get nearly the same level of performance from the usual suspects (Wilson,Baer, Nighthawk...

    What's Your Next Purchase? V5

I'm flying in to Shreveport Friday to order my 1911 from Clark's Custom. Going to go with at two-tone (bright chrome slide, ionblack frame) Meltdown commander with some type of bobbed frame and light engraving.

Which of our ancestors made the most sturdy, and effective battle ready swords

Ulfhbehrt swords (middle eastern steel forged using Nordic techniques) are considered tough and resilient even compared to modern steels. Can't think of anything that would compare, really.

    Funny "tactical" stuff

In defense of the Gladius, that was pioneered by John Gage, who got his start in historic replicas before moving on to do his own thing. His original Gladius design has been used by at least one SOF unit and several contractors over the last few decades in lieu of a traditional machete...
