Thing is that guys like Danaher makes some other guy believe they can be similar and honestly , it can happen.
Maybe the pruple competed, anyway I am not defending him but keep in mind that outside the US many of us started training with a blue or purple at most.
Totally, I still don´t get much about this phrase but I stopped BJJ for 8 years and now being a blue betl I don´t have a desire to stop, maybe I´m a little bit too classical for these days XD.
Awesome, I lived in Vancouver Island in 2010 and visited BC last year for two month, there´s good BJJ in that province so maybe next time I´ll pass around and hope can visit you.
PD: Please no contracts for visitors, month to month pay XD
That´s genius, I have high nerves and lazyness (not sure if well written) but I am going to compete again, have zero ego but I don´t want to let down my coach hahaha though the important is to have fun and learn.
You´re a human being that can decide, is pretty easy to throw somebody in a bad way if you want, specially in self defense.
He´s smart, I have always think the same and regular people cannot stand a good low kick, leave alone 2 or 3.
I love BJJ , stopped for 8 years and will continue doing it forever but I have more years of training in judo and a few in striking so I confirm there ´s a little bit of blindness (sorry if didn´t write it well) for some hardcore fans in the self defense scenario.
I also trained self defense in...
Just keep it simple, if the takedown or throw doesn´t knock the hell of the guy just ground and pound or run if you have the chance, just let go that pulling guard or sitting mentality for self defense.
My boxing coach has been in México many times, last one for months and the excercise where you pull a heavy object tied to a rope is one of the hardest but very valuable we do in class.
He´s right but he is also so full of violence that people should not take him so seriously. Whatever you use in the street has to be simply and as long as your bases are solid you´ll be able to defend yourself otherwise boxing basics wouldn´t be in most special forces systems, is a sport yes but...
Here there ´s still free judo but BJJ has more classes per week so I train more that art and judo sometimes twice a week since is mostly made by older guys ( 30 something ) to keep the art alive despite being kind of dead in the region.
For sure, too bad some karatekas don´t even know a basic...
Both are fun otherwise why do it in first place.
Mmm depends on the country but when BJJ was getting popular specially Gracie fans wre th biggest douchebags even if they were white belts.
White but you know what, he´s training to know more about his possible competition in the future, he doesn´t need a BJJ black belt.
I love BJJ and I do it as I do judo but can´t stand the fanatism of some guys, they think all ground basics are only well taught in BJJ which is a lie.
