He wasn't given a black belt for the KO. He was given a black belt he was about to receive anyway, it just so happened that he KO'ed someone prior to receiving it. This has been mentioned tons of times.

It's true. It's also true that Izzy wants this fine wine to age, whereas Alex doesn't seem to care much, as he is busy finding better wines than the old ones.

Who knows? Jones could just as easily think to himself that Alex is a very beatable fighter and that his (Jones') strengths matches very well to Alex' weakness. I don't find it impossible that Jones actually fights Alex. It's a very intriguing match for both of them.

Why are you guys going on and on about Jones - Reyes? How is that important for Jones - Poatan? Is it to convince yourselves that Jones is beatable? Clutching at straws?

Jan was older than anyone Jones fought. And "old" Shogun and Rampage were younger than Izzy.

It's funny how Alex makes cutting weight cool. He's literally heavier at lhw than Jones ever was (Jones who was "OMG TOO BIG FOR LHW!!") ... ... and Alex fought at 185 somewhat recently.

That's a really great fight, haven't really thought of this before. I imagine though that Bo (that's an intentional rhyme) would have to fight someone ranked to get to fight Khamzat? Dunno, it's just my immediate thoughts.
