Im looking for English commentary. The videos uploaded by user "tarmlm" on youtube are not in English.
User "Franjete" has some videos, but not all weightclasses.
anyone got a link to download the entire broadcasts with ENGLISH commentary in all weightclasses?
I've searched the interwebz and so far came up with 85, 94, 105 (snatch, c & j), +105 (only snatch, no c & j) but Im still missing the rest of the events.
I hope its not illegal to ask for...
Doing hypers balancing plates on your neck or holding them close to your chest with crossed arm will always be a bitch.
Just hold the plates with both arms hanging straight down.
With this technique, you can lift whole pile if plates if you like.
The main problem is that you cant squat with an upright posture. This is what causes your bad technique.
Instead of using your legs, you fold over by rising your hips and leaning forward your torso. This puts you in a position in the second pull where you have to swing you hips forward...
If you focus on OLY-lifting, your shoulders probably get enough beating out of snatching, jerking and pressing. Adding benches could be the final straw that broke the donkey's back.
Having sad that, the younger lifters in my oly-club are benching maybe once a week as an assistance at the...
Well put sir. This is what Im getting at, although I may look like an asshole steering up trouble up in S & C.
It makes me sad that the term "squat" has been so watered down that eg. weightlifters like like Mischa, Pat mendez etc. has to label their squatvideos "OLY, ATG, 100% RAW" etc. to...
Yes indeed, I make the following statements that above squatters are doing a power-lifting squat because the term "squat" isn't precise enough.
I can honestly say Im not fully knowledgeble about the historical roots of the squat, but to my understanding the existence of the powerlifting squat...
Im very picky about calling a squat a squat. This is most due to I believe in precise use of words.
To hear ppl talk about squats when they in fact mean lowbar or any other kind of squat, is eqivalent to teenagers referring to UFC and MMA as the same thing.
Its almost as bad as when ppl refer...
SQUAT = full range of motion with calfs touching hamstrings and barbell high on traps (aka highbar/ATG/Full squat).
Every other type of back-squat shortens the ROM and needs an added description.
Powerlifting squat
Lowbar squat
Quartersquat etc.
Damn, impressive.
This thread need some Krastev and Mischa...
There simply has to be a lot of training footage of the golden boys of USSR in hi8-format laying around collecting dust in somewhere in russia. If only someone could convert them and upload em on youtube.
Although I train at a facility where weigth-and powerlifting are the norm, some ppl just dont have decency to stay away when in the middle of set of snatch or clean and jerks.
Its like ppl cant understand that a olympic lift may go wrong and I have to dump it backwards.
^^^^^
Yeah, Im only guessing here based on my own experiences.
The few times Ive squatted lowbar, I could lift 20% more.
And thats without being used to the LB technique.
For me though, frontsquat is the preferred squat...
Too bad there arent any comparable WR in RAW LB vs HB squat...
Maybe we can have a poll on this also?:icon_chee
The strength-ratio between HB and LB are obviously depending on body proportions and posterior chain strength, but my humble guess is most ppl can atleast squat 20% more LB (shoulderwidth stance, going below parallell and as low as you can with...
