    I feel bad, man

I recently got tapped by a blue belt. I paced him let him ramp up then gassed. 25yrs younger than me in the infantry. First time I rolled with him. Time ran out so no time for retribution. Next time, smash and tap him, and throw him. I played to relaxed then it was too late.

If the Best train with the Best shouldn't students be allowed to cross train with students from other schools? If growth is to occur, if not inbreeding and limits are often a result Shouldn't open mat at other schools be encouraged? Not be penalized with excommunication?

Like when a coach has a mafia of 9gyms but you can't cross train at any of the others for fear of getting told on an excommunicated? Or when a prominent figure in bjj history puts a ban on an ibjjf tournament that means excommunication of any attending members so ibjjf will NEVER come back to...

I don't see where he is doing amasa pao when in the opponents guard. Am I missing it? As a poster in another board commented it is a key component in vt

That's a valid point. Statistics are useful to build metrics and a direction for further investigation and potential interests. What did you think of the dispelling of the myth that x% of fights go to the ground?

Is being a Gracie or Machado blackbelt still 'the standard' in prestige like a Kodokan Judo BB?

Good lineage doesn't always equate to good coaching. Coaching and teaching are a seperate art. People leave for a variety of reasons. Some find the coach not meeting their needs, bad environment, not enough peers, bad partners, coach consistently away, unprofessional coaches, too expensive...

I'm A BJJ Fanatic: John Danaher

Thanks ALL for the replies on RHall vs Danaher. I have got most of RHalls material when it came out and use a lot of it. It's hard to justify spending more money on new sets when I have tons of material to refine. I do have Danahers leg system and Listers but can't justify addressing legs when I...

    Best Danaher Instructional so far?

You just missed Labor Day sale of 30% off. He talks way too much for me. I usually watch videos at 1.5x speed the first round through and jot notes with times. How does he compare to RyanHalls sets?

If you train consistently for 4-6 days a week is purple at 3 years legit ?

Re- Bold and underlined A lot of schools have curriculums and tests. Alliance and GB some of the early pioneers of such over 15yrs ago. Relson was mentioned, had a minimum number of classes per belt, to qualify to test.

Congratulations you put serious work in. I always felt I never deserved each belt. But either way you grow into it. You're on the next hit list as you are a belt up. You got to consider these times to bjj bb and each belt are dropping. Information available and training availability is way...

My Back Control really needs some work

Bow and arrow is a good choke, but easier to defend and difficult to transition right into another attack. He just needs to stop the elbow lock from dropping. Then he can work out of it. RNC you can do Right then immediately go Left then repeat. It works any submission sport, jacket or not.

My Back Control really needs some work

If you loose the hooks... work to belly down but maintain the backpack. Then sit them up in a seated crunch as you squat hunch over them. Marcelo does it. You can attack from the squat various. An easy crucifix is yank them laterally as they balance on their butt. Many people will post. This...
