    SUMO - 2022 Aki Basho (Sept. 11th - 25th)

And with that Tamawashi has as many yusho as the 72nd Yokozuna Kisenosato. With his age it would be a great opportunity to retire while his body is still intact. But with the current opposition you can't fault him for trying to get another one. Could also be the start of an ozeki run.

    Hall could have Hendo'ed Chris

Hall hendo'ing Weidman's mangled leg would have been the icing on the cake.

    SUMO - 2021 Hatsu Basho (Jan. 10th - Jan. 24th)

I usually wouldn't even bother with a reply, but your 'facts' are so outrageously wrong it isn't even funny and the only one disparaging anybody was you. Antero-Jacquemin, J., Pohar-Perme, M., Rey, G. et al. The heart of the matter: years-saved from cardiovascular and cancer deaths in an...

    SUMO - 2021 Hatsu Basho (Jan. 10th - Jan. 24th)

So me and my colleagues at one off the top hospitals/medical schools in the world are doing it all wrong then. Should have gotten my degree at google university instead i guess. The lightest he has ever been was 138kg according to sumodb. That's a BMI off 39,5. There is no way he ever had sub...

    SUMO - 2021 Hatsu Basho (Jan. 10th - Jan. 24th)

I would be surprised if there is a single Rikishi in the upper divisions at the moment that isn't obese in the sense of the official definition (BMI >30). And depending on where you are located that alone qualifies as an illness. The only one that comes to mind that wasn't obese is Takanoyama...

    SUMO - 2021 Hatsu Basho (Jan. 10th - Jan. 24th)

Akua dodged a bullet today, that ending had potential catastrophe written all over it. Especially if his head get's caught on the ring the wrong way.

    SUMO - 2021 Hatsu Basho (Jan. 10th - Jan. 24th)

And another win for Akiseyama, closing in on that zensho yusho. Probably will throw 4 grains of salt from then on out instead of 3.

    SUMO - 2020 Kyushu Basho (Nov. 8th - Nov. 22nd)

Looks like Kotoshogiku wants to end his career as the Juryo gatekeeper, or something. Should have spared his body the 2 years of additional damage and retired in 2018.

    SUMO - 2020 "Nagoya" Basho (July 19th - August 2nd)

Nice welcoming from Hakuho for his fellow countryman. Having no spectators around the dohyō has it's advantages, i guess.

    SUMO - 2018 Hatsu Basho (Jan. 14th - 28th)

regarding Terunofuji: i think it was one of the first bashos of 2016 where he still looked like the next big thing but picked up an injury and didn't take enough time to recover. he dropped out but immediately entered the next basho where you could see that he's not fully healed. this is where...

Do people actually shower twice before training and after?

correct, showering right before training will actually do more harm than good because of this. if you shower in the morning there is absolutely no need to shower again before training. also, wash your gis and belts.
