Next thread title: why won't my triple posts delete?

BJJ is for Unathletic Nerds, Fat Kids, Soccer Moms, 40 Year Old Dads, 100 lb girls, etc...

Thank god for BJJ. Regular people learn how to defend themselves, get in shape, and make friends. I've seen so many people's lives change for the better.

    Best Jiu jitsu compliments...

This thread is still going? One of my teammates came up to me last night at the bar our team was watching Nate fight. He was almost crying. He was so happy that I was "beating his ass" on the mat. His infant child is in the hospital fighting for his life. Making someone's life a little better...

Gordon Ryan vs. Keenan Cornelius (SUB ONLY, NO TIME LIMIT!)

I'm excited to learn about this leg locking game.

Gordon Ryan vs. Keenan Cornelius (SUB ONLY, NO TIME LIMIT!)

I lost it in the great format change of 2015. I don't mind being a white belt.

Gordon Ryan vs. Keenan Cornelius (SUB ONLY, NO TIME LIMIT!)

I thought it was great. I didn't get to see the whole match. I want to defend leg attacks for hours and not get worried. Jake Shields trained with these guys recently. Jake tapped me five times in five minutes with these attacks. Jake said that there are Jiu Jitsu black belts with blue belt leg...

Is the Grappling Technique forum becoming less enjoyable because of the hardcore advertising?

I don't feel that I have much to offer anymore. I lost my old account when the format changed. I randomly look for fun troll threads. This site had its time and place in my life. I've moved on, but will feel nostalgic at times.

    Do you dance?

I am a member of the San Francisco Bay Area social dance scene and I love it. I started with blues dancing, moved to Argentine tango, and now mainly fusion dance. I've tried west coast swing, Lindy hop, salsa, cha cha, and ecstatic. The world needs more dancers! Here is an example of an almost...

The art of just showing up....

"Just showing up" has done wonders for me over the years. Showing up means being open to learn, doing your best, and most importantly; having fun. Having fun makes me want to keep showing up.

    F12 Appreciation Thread

f12 is the best. I just seem to have a lot of other things going on. I used to try to learn moves, but now I can barely keep up with what I am learning in class. I miss the old format and the stitch threads.

I'm a white belt and I tapped a black belt

You told me that you wouldn't tell anybody!

    Best Jiu jitsu compliments...

"You are strong" is typically a negative. However, a somewhat notable black belt once wrote on my Facebook timeline "strong ass mother f^*ker". He beat me by an advantage in competition. I got a laugh and took it as a compliment.

There is a lot of technique in applying pressure.

I think "legit" is great because the opposite "fraud" is so awful.

    Best Jiu jitsu compliments...

Many years ago a famous fighter said. "I was ducking you today because I didn't want to be challenged."

    Best Jiu jitsu compliments...

Ok. Executive decision: If you weigh 120 lbs, "You are strong" is a compliment. :-)
