Has the overhand right a dubious reputation in boxing?

Nice gif. Although I'm hesitant to classify that as an overhand right in the context most people are discussing here, i.e., a more traditionally thought of, arcing and winding setup a la Wilder. See his trajectory. His hand launches from it's position in the guard without raising higher, his...

    Gettin back at it

Sup dude. Couple years ago I broke the lower half of my leg in a motorcycle accident. The break wasn't too bad but my leg has been stiff and sore since, could hardly run. Started getting into boxing summer of last year, and it was a slow process to get up to speed, literally. Proper warm up...

How is the A-level athlete "myth" debunked? Ngannou earned title shot with 4 years training.

At some point it should be factored that fighting and sports are different things. Fighting requires a set of self preservation skills and aggression not commonly found in activities that primarily focus on getting a ball from point A to point B. Ngannou may not ever be good enough to play...

Anyone here training with achilles tendonitis?

I got it when I got off my ass and started boxing again. Age and neglect contributed greatly. Nothing really to do but rest, take it easy, and ice it up as you start being active again. When you start up, WARMING UP properly is key. Can't stress that enough.

Mexican for me, all the way. I start on the thumb. Most do. Wrap between all your fingers.

Fighters/techniques, you try to emulate in the gym

I try to emulate someone. Then my coach smacks me and I go back to fundamentals.

Those with Reyes training gloves - What's the weight?

I think you may be onto something. I have a new pair of legit Reyes training in 16oz (velcro) - they feel much heavier than other 16 oz gloves I have in my arsenal.

    Linares vs Campbell

Looking forward to this as well. I like Linares' story arc of coming back and rebuilding, and I like him to win this one.

Boxing just has better athletes than MMA

That was my point. I was responding to a statement saying that there's a greater influx of MMA elders than in boxing. Not sure if that's true

Boxing just has better athletes than MMA

So satisfying to see an out-of-retirement, old-head Mayweather, out-"fitness" McGregor and shut all that nonsense down.

Source? I'd like to see the data on this if true.

If Jones was still the GOAT after one failure, then he's still the GOAT after the second failure.

The axiom "it's only cheating if you get caught" holds some merit in this thread.
