Winning Boxing Equipment from America Ya in Japan 2.0

There seems to be a worldwide shortage of Winning inventory right now, as all the main distributors are sold out of nearly everything. You can still find Winning Velcro gloves at a lot of places, but I know most people (myself included) don’t like their Velcro model. This shortage has also...

Any particular reason people from China are buying up more Winning gloves than usual?

Winning Boxing Equipment from America Ya in Japan 2.0

For some reason, Winning inventory seems to be really low everywhere, and prices have gone up. I just bought a pair from Kozuji, but even they had very low stock. A lot of sizes were only available in blue. I’ve heard stores in Japan that stock their gloves are also very low on inventory. I’m...

    Removing brand logos

Those gloves came out great! I just now looked at your pictures. Just out of curiosity, is Golden Gear a brand out of Thailand? I don’t think I’ve ever heard of them before this thread.

Grants really aren’t anything all that special. I think people see the high prices and all the pros wearing them, who are likely receiving them free from Grant, and assume they are going to be on par with Winning or ultra high end gloves. Grant doesn’t even make their own gloves or have their...

I actually sold the lace up pair of gold Cleto Reyes. I do love the shade of gold they use though...I love their silver gloves too.

    Removing brand logos

I’ve used Angelus Leather Preparer and Deglazer before. It should definitely take the logo off but it may also fade the color of the leather a little bit.

Gloves you like more then winnings?

I have the 1v1 horsehair bag gloves in 12 ounces. I love them but have just started using them so I obviously can’t really say anything about their durability yet. However, I’ve used several pairs of both Cleto Reyes and Everlast MX horsehair fight gloves on the bag in the past, and they...

The GIL lining is rough like Necalli. Boxeo, GIL, and Necalli are probably the three with the roughest lining. New Sporting seems to use different linings in different gloves. But in general, I would say it’s not as rough as the three brands I mentioned above, but it’s also not really smooth...

Gloves you like more then winnings?

I think it just depends on the individual person and their own unique situation. Speaking personally, boxing in general is one of my biggest passions, and boxing gloves are one of the very few things I splurge on when it comes to spending money. I don’t have a fancy new car, a big house, I’m...

Gloves you like more then winnings?

So when I say I’m not a big fan of Fly’s X line of gloves, I really just mean in comparison to other gloves of similar price (based on current exchange rates, the Fly X gloves are currently about $255 before shipping and tax) and Fly’s premium line of gloves. So I probably didn’t word that as...

One other thing I’d like to mention related to sparring....in terms of the gloves that your sparring partner is wearing, I’ve never felt a glove that hurts less than Fly. They are even softer than Winning. If you ever have a choice about what gloves your sparring partner is going to wear, I...

Gloves you like more then winnings?

I actually prefer the most recent updated model of New Sporting 16 ounce gloves for sparring. I would have Fly and Winning as a tie for second place. In terms of bag gloves, my favorites are GIL and 1v1. For pro fight gloves, I like Grant best, followed by the Rival RFX Guerrero HDE-F model. I...

Forgot to answer your last question...yes New Sporting feels basically identical to Grant training gloves from a few years ago. I haven’t used any of the newer Grant training gloves, so I can’t comment on those.

I rate GIL really high...# 1 for bagwork. I’d say the New Sportings are my favorite for sparring (followed by Casanova in close second), and Grants are my favorite fight gloves. I like the Reyes for their overall versatility. I’ve never sparred with GIL gloves; some people say they are too stiff...

I have tried the X series too and wasn’t crazy about them. The X series uses synthetic leather (which I definitely don’t have anything against) and are made in China, whereas the regular Fly gloves are made in the UK with real leather and higher quality craftsmanship. The ones in this photo are...

    Mexican gloves various brands

I posted this picture in another thread but wanted to include it here too as these are almost all Mexican made gloves (Cleto Reyes, Grant, Necalli/Casanova, GIL, and New Sporting). The only non-Mexican gloves in the photo are the Flys and the 1v1s.

I love them. They are the first pair of 1v1 gloves I’ve owned, but they are really nice, and I always like to support a company that makes their products in the USA. These are 12 ounce horsehair bag gloves, but unlike a lot of horsehair gloves, they are really dense and offer very good hand...
