I have 2 pairs of Twins. I really like them. Like people have said though, they are really bulky. When sparring Muay Thai clinch work can be a bit problematic I found because the gloves are so bulky. Sparring partners like them though for the soft padding.
The gloves in the budget comparison were actually a different glove. They are supposedly a step down from the vintage ones in this review.
I agree with you some of the reviews leave something to be desired. He seems to be biased towards UK and European gloves vs Mexican, etc.
Yeah, that was me about that mentioned the Noble and Valour Strike having the same padding issue. I have never seen it on any other gloves either.
After using the gloves for a bit I just don’t find I reach for them at all. I prefer my UMA IR gloves, which are much better quality I think. Stock...
UMA makes a real good glove and their stock gloves are priced well. I really like Twins as well. Good quality for the price but kind of bulky.
I have Rival gloves and find them okay. Not worth the cost in my opinion.
Just wanted to post a quick review about the Valour Strike Vintage gloves (cannot make a new thread so figured I would do it here).
When I got the gloves first the right glove had the liner torn away from the finger compartment and grip bar area. I contacted Valour Strike and sent them a few...
I just got them recently. Have not had a real chance to use them. I think they need some time on the bag to soften up before trying them for sparring. The wrist protection is pretty good I find. The leather smell is really nice.
Has anyone used the Ring to Cage gel shin guards? Looking at a pair of C17 gloves and shin guards or trying out Valour Strike and their Grant clone gloves and a pair of their shin guards. Both are on sale for Black Friday.
I find them to be okay. Hand compartment is a bit tight with wraps I find. Padding is pretty good. My biggest gripe is the velcro strap is a pain in the ass to deal with when you have both gloves on.
I have 16oz twins for sparring and 14oz for pads. It took a few weeks to break in the 16oz. Had to use them on the heavy bag before they felt comfortable.
Looking for reviews from people on Topboxer stock gloves. I want to try out thei gloves but don't want to go custom just yet. I have a pair of custom UMA in rotation and am a big fan.
Thanks.
