I think mostly about the mental and psychological aspect. Being happy and comfortable with your job and coworkers is worth a concession in your payout especially long term, in my opinion. What you said is also true but I don't want to get into it too much, these matters get me going :)

A lot of things can be excused because they're kids but not attacking another person for "fun". It's unfortunate but if it comes down to it, you have to defend yourself somehow. No weapons but I believe in those cases you have to do whatever you can, no matter the age of the attackers.
