Is the difference in the hand compartment or just the weight and amount of padding? I am looking at finally getting a pair of dedicated pad/bag gloves that offer good protection so am seriously looking into the bgv9’s. I would like to get them lighter at 12oz but some have said the hand...

New purchases incoming (unless you convince me otherwise )

At my lowly level, those events can also stretch to using their ill sized shin pads and headgear, which have already been used many times that day!

New purchases incoming (unless you convince me otherwise )

You bring up an excellent point Woldog and I agree szie is not the only issue when considering sparring safety, especially when we have models like the BGV9 being so popular. Certainly different glove models produce different sparring experiences, however I was talking specifically about one...

New purchases incoming (unless you convince me otherwise )

I'd like to hear about them as well, especially their actual weight and hand compartment size. I bought a pair of the 2nd generation Boon 16oz that I really liked. After 9 months of use a training partner tried them and commented on how light they felt so I weighted them and they turned out to...

    Fairtex vs Raja vs Boon

I just weighed my 16oz Boon's I bought 6 months ago. They both weigh in exactly at 14.0 oz! I wonder how much the 12 oz actually weigh? :P

    Fairtex vs Raja vs Boon

I have also been looking at the 12oz BGV9's for bag/pads and I currently use Boon 16oz. What size Boon were too small inside for you? I find the 16oz Boon's rather big inside, but they may be smaller if they are 12oz?

I have a pair of 16oz Boon gloves (current edition) that I use for all my training (sparring and pad/bag work) but would like at least get a pair of smaller 12oz gloves for pad/bag work, and perhaps even another pair of sparring friendly 16oz.
