So...winner faces Khabib in the fall with Tony waiting through-out? Damn shame...the lightweight division suddenly becomes stagnant. Max eventually should move up but absolutely absurd this is for a belt. More exciting fights for Khabib than either of these 2.
The curse of Khabib/Tony...
Agreed, the new guys pose threats for sure. Need to see Max vs both Zabit and Moicano.
Never want to see him vs Edgar, though....all due respect to Frankie but Aldo and Ortega proved he's a step behind.
Khabib destroys all of them. The only super-fight involving the Eagle should be GSP or...
I realized after last night it's also Jones' willingness to hurt his opponent to change position. Gus defends the first two rounds of takedowns so Jones destroys his lead knee - defense gone. GSP utilizes the jab to set up takedowns, Silva baits with movement and viciously counters.....more...
Eh, 1st round was competitive. 2nd Jones starts inflicting damage. Didn't think Gus looked that tentative...he had Jones on the back foot quite a bit and was landing, but probably felt he was down 2 rounds. Jones trashed Gus knee to eliminate any takedown defense and finished with masterful...
Immediately after watching, I thought it was a gameplan issue as well: Cyborg too reckless, thought she could body Nunes, didn't respect the power, etc....but after watching a few times more, I give more credit to Nunes trusting in her counters and leading Cyborg to believe she was vulnerable...
Can we discuss the 3rd round some more? Absolutely, score the round for Mcg but he was mentally defeated at about the 3:15 mark: huge straight right from Khabib (of course, no reaction from dom or joe) that was more powerful than anything Mcg put on him for the first 2 minutes BY FAR.....the 3rd...
Pointed out it makes sense no entity tries to market this method, as the goal is to consume less often.
I came to this conclusion early on after starting to IF: it's a diet, a lifestyle, that avoids the trappings of advertising, marketing, and general corporate greed.....and given how those...
The bragging about weight was a terrible look for Till....He's got redeeming qualities though and is an exciting fighter. No matter the outcome of the fight, I hope he stays humble and moves up. The grapplers at the top of 185 are only getting older. Imagine a matchup like Till vs Gast in a...
It was so bad in the main event....they just trying to perpetuate the lie that "khabib has no striking" to better market Khabib/Conor in Russia as competitive
It won't be
I'm with it...maybe a little soon but fuck it, has the potential to be a fire-fight. I'm assuming winner fights Ponz anyway, while Woodley defends against the Rio winner?
I agree it's a mess. The 4th option is make edgar/Ortega for an interim belt to get the 5 round fight....which contradicts my usual opinion of limiting all these interim belts, hence the thread.
My main beef is having edgar/Ortega only be 3 rounds. I'd happily watch on fox
