Karate Combat, drama, and an attempt at a new league

If I can scrounge up the money sure, but unfortunately I don’t have trust fund and the only person I knew with one threw their life away with drugs, so it’ll definitely be hard Last time i followed one fc at all there was a distinct lack of drama which is why I liked it more than UFC.

Karate Combat, drama, and an attempt at a new league

I didn’t expect him to give answers id agree with, but at least expected blunt honesty. When asked about shitty things fighters did he said it was just freedom of expression and he didn’t want to stifle that. Like just say controversy sells.

New president of KC did a Reddit AMA… Dude comes off as a total douche imho.

    Why sparring is dead

Wow, so many people who clearly didn’t watch the and only decided to comment on the title…

Karate Combat, drama, and an attempt at a new league

Idk if anyone here is still following KC, but the board and new president seem hellbent on telling the promotion’s core audience to fuck off in favor of (possibly) greater short term profits. KC has recently expanded into BJJ competitions, weird but ok, it started off as its own separate...

    Watered Down Martial Arts

I great he wrote an article for a magazine…that’s one hell of an accolade…did he write books? I’m pretty sure the only book he’s listed as an author on was just his notes that his wife turned into a book and published after his death… But no one is really denying or arguing any of that…because...

Of course you showed up to suck Bruce Lee’s dick and try to derail the conversation

    Watered Down Martial Arts

And the rules of other sports change as well. I can think of at least 3 major rule changes to football in my memory. Changing the rules of a game changes the meta sure, but it doesn’t change the fact that athletes get better every generation because they and their coaches managed to learn from...

    Watered Down Martial Arts

Right? Like every sport consistently get newer bigger records set every few years. Like today’s average college 1st string player is probably equal to the average 1st string NFL player from the 70s Same for things like track, and swimming. It’s much harder to see that sort of growth in combat...

    Brain damage from sparring?

Light sparring? The risk is almost 0 Moderate sparring? That’s a various nebulous term that will mean very different things to different people. At the higher end, yeah it’s fairly good possibility at the middle, probably not that large of a risk, at the lower end it’ll still be pretty low risk.

Is sparring a waste of time?

    If you say so.

Is sparring a waste of time?

I have, several times. Part of working an inner city ER.

Is sparring a waste of time?

You ever had to tell a gang they can’t see lil Tony after he got shot? …just because they chose to beat people up rather than controlling the situation doesn’t change anything i said.

Is sparring a waste of time?

You either fight all the time or you spar. Those are the options. Military, police, NASA, DOT, etc all use simulators that aren’t 100% like the real thing to train and prepare people to do things that are dangerous and require skill, and potentially rapid decision making. There’s nothing wrong...

    Question about tma vs mma

Who is this ‘whole world of combat sports’? Karateka are literally all over MMA and kickboxing…so the entirety of the combat sports that involve punching and kicking… But whatever, as the other dude said you’re either trolling or just extremely ignorant

    Question about tma vs mma

Yep. He’s one of those, if you can’t see a point fighting style and chambered punches in a fighter’s style, it doesn’t matter if they trained karate for 15+ years, they clearly aren’t using karate regardless of how many karate fighters are in mma and kickboxing.

    Question about tma vs mma

‘Debunked’ Yet there’s literally hundreds of people using these styles in MMA, and kickboxing… Like I said, you’ve clearly invested your ego into this for some reason, so you don’t care about the facts, which is why you ignored my point about sage northcutt

    Question about tma vs mma

People like you always have excuses. It’s freaking hilarious. So how do you explain people like sage northcutt who have blackbelts in 2 styles of karate and is only 27? Idk why your ego is so invested in “karate bad, karate can’t fight.” Also good to know boxing didn’t exist in the US before...
