re: figure-4 versus two hands on wrist.
I've always found it interesting that there's disagreement amongst the experts. Dave Camarillo advocates for a figure-4 grip, but both Danaher and the Mendes brothers both prefer the two on one wrist grip.
I dropped into Gracie Technics (Rylan Lizares' school) a few years ago and was very impressed. He's also Max Holloway's BJJ coach. Very technical no-gi students, multiple UFC fighters train there regularly.
Are you referring to his grip on the single-leg? So if I'm hitting a single on the opponent's left leg, my right hand should be on top when I gable grip my hands, right? I learned to do it that way for a few reasons - the main of which was if you're right hand is on bottom your grip is easier...

This is the kneebahhhh guy. He's actually not a bad dude, and pretty tough. Obviously can get a little too emotional.....Him and his brother were relatively prominent local southern new england MMA fighters back in the day.
Dear friends,
What is the best way to get a boxing glove with a custom logo on it? I just want 1 pair, as a gift for a friend. Looking for a good, all-purpose velcro closure glove in the $100 range. Would it be easiest to buy the glove and then have someone embroider it after the fact? I...
Awesome match.
To me, it almost looked like they had a gentleman's agreement to not heelhook. I can't recall a sngle serious heelhook attempt and Eddie kept going more for kneebar or ankle lock grips.

I think the recovery position is your best option. That would be to lay them on their side, etc. If you still feel like they are obstructing their airway with their tongue or other soft tissues, the best...
Dave is a prophet. I could listen to him talk forever.
My only (slight) qualm with him is the creation of the Guerilla Jiu-Jitsu art. Sometimes I think it'd be better if he just graded his students in Judo and BJJ, instead of his own hybrid.
Having said that, he is 10x the martial artist...
New videos from Henry Akins.
I found a lot of it interesting, but I could definitely see how some of the concepts might be difficult to convey through video. Maybe it really is invisible...
With all the talk about the Firas interview in the last few weeks, I've been keeping an eye out for instructionals from him. He's been putting up about 1 a week on youtube for the last few weeks, and I have to say I've been really enjoying them.
I apologize if these have been posted...
Fabi has decided to take a break from teaching. He has been doing some training with Formiga at Jiu-Jitsu and Strength Academy in Cromwell, CT. As far as I know he is not teaching anywhere at the moment.
