Media 11 years ago, George St-pierre defeated Nick Diaz in a highly anticipated fight.

Nick Diaz was super dangerous at that time. His run in Strikeforce was nuts, he had good hands and freakish cardio. Condit fought a really smart and evasive fight to get the decision before this, but I was still worried as a GSP fan. Then GSP did what he always does and executed perfectly and...

    Combat sports is unforgiving

Meh, Frank got his dome punched into next week but he made a ton of money to get his ass kicked. The shame of losing to someone he was supposed to lose to won't hurt so much with those millies in the bank.

Dana White Urges Winner of Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic to Fight Tom Aspinall

I don't think Jones takes the fight if he wims. He barely fights anymore and doesn't seem to take risks. I barely remember any times I legit thought he could lose. Biggest threat matchup was DC, but he was sauced up for that. He ducked Frank until Frank went for the money and Dana tried flipping...

Do you think max holloway can beat volk now?

I think he would beat the Volk we saw against Ilia. Showing up to fight only a few short months after getting KO'd like he did against Islam was a bad choice. 2 back to back knockout losses like that and I don't suspect we will see vintage Volk again. It happens to everyone eventually, he had a...

What happened to Volk shows why...

Meh, he risked it for the biscuit. Aldo is still the GOAT based on dominance over time but if Volk had pulled it off against Islam he'd have a great argument. He took a huge risk and it didn't pan out. He still had an insane career on top and is firmly the number 2 of all time at 145. I think he...

Statistically, the first KO is the beginning of the end.

I think Volk should call it a career. He had an elite run at the top, risked it for the biscuit at 155 and it didn't pan out. Two KO losses just months apart isn't good for the noggin. I don't see him rebounding and holding the strap again at 35 years old in the super competitive light...

who wins between prime stipe and prime cain

Prime Cain I think. The guy from the second JDS fight was a monster. He made people forget just how good JDS was at his peak. I'd probably take prime JDS over Stipe too. By the time they fought Cain had aged him 40 years through those beat downs.

    List is perfect IMO.

If Colby Covington wants to save his career, he must do this...

He definitely needs to move down ASAP. The ship has sailed at 170 - he will never be champion there even though he is good enough to hang with anyone. There are some intriguing matchups for him at 155 and he would be an elite contender. Probably gets rinsed by Makhachev but I think he probably...

GSP's physical and athletic abilities analyzed by Sport Science

I think him being really calm in there and having amazing timing had a lot to do with his cardio as well. Obviously he was in fantastic shape, but his takedowns were perfectly timed rather than trying to overpower guys and drag them down. Being super technical saves you from expending too much.

    Ideal PFL-Bellator supercard

Looks like OAM retired. Too bad, I would have liked to see him against McKee (Usman busted for the juice), or take another run in the UFC. He got out with 2 belts and a couple milly though, never finished in his career, ended on a win streak. Gotta respect that.

How would Aspinall vs Ngannou go?

At this point I got BIG FRANK but Aspinall looks better every fight

Coggins says mma fans are idiots

Goggins isn't an MMA fighter but Tony already has enough technique to beat Paddy, its just his chin and reflexes that have left the building long ago. Prime Tony kills Paddy, but maybe going full balls to the wall on cardio and doing something crazy like this to get even a small glimpse of old...

Francis Ngannou Still Plans to Compete in Boxing, MMA Going Forward

LeBron James, Nate Diaz Among Those Unhappy with Fury-Ngannou Decision

Doing way better than expected doesn't equal winning, as much as mma fans want to huff the copium. Fury by decision was the right outcome, but Fury should still be wildly embarassed and Ngannou is the better fighter overall because he did way better in boxing than Fury would have done in mma...

Kamaru Usman never surpassed Matt Hughes

Agreed, Hughes is the clear #2 of all time. Recency bias is insane, some people called Woodley #2 of all time during his reign too.

Islam beats every ranked WW besides Leon and Shavkat...

I don't think we can say that. 170 has some big boys in it. The grappling dominance element goes away against some of these big boys. Colby-Islam I think is super competitive. Even past his best days Marty is a horrible matchup for him. Different size of frame on some of these bruisers like...
