Getting back to Bjj after knee surgery

I tore my ACL about 7 months ago also. No surgery though. I spoke to a few surgeons, physio's and sports doctors - the consensus seems to be that re-injury is fairly common in the year or two following surgery and over time the likelihood of re-injury reduces. i was told if i went with a knee...

    PlayStation Helldivers II

The super samples are a pretty bad grind, medals isn't so bad once you're playing at 7+ difficulty and the number of medals you get for each mission picks up. I've started playing at 8 and it feels like a huge jump in difficulty. Any squad I join at 7 we can clear the map and get all the samples...

    PlayStation Helldivers II

i've decided that i hate it. Took myself out with it twice because i was behind a waist high rock and trying to shoot over, and it hit the rock and the splash damage instakilled me. You cant kill anything up close with it because it fucks you up, and it sucks at range because its slow and arcs...

    PlayStation Helldivers II

I'm doing my part. This is the most fun i've had in a game in a long time. Normally not a multiplayer guy, but this is awesome. For Liberty!

    Twenty years!?!

FWIW whenever i'm particularly broken (which seems to be a lot) I get on BPC157, TB500 and CJC / Ipamorelin i cant promise it's a magic cure, because i also hit the rehab and any other thing that will help at the same time, but so far i've bounced back from all these things ok. congrats on 20...

To upgrade or to not upgrade? RTX 4080 super

going from a 1080 to a 4080 will be a very nice upgrade. Like jumping out of a vw golf and into a porsche. will it last you 5 years? who can say. I would say if you're gaming at the kind of 2k res mark it should last you quite a while. If you want to game at 4k you might consider the need for...

What my body feels like after a 4 year break ...

on the money about good pain and bad pain. I've recently returned to training properly after a knee injury and as beat up as i feel, it's 'good' pain and i like it. better than the usual pain i feel when i'm not training lol.

Torn ACL, what can I do to keep my skills up?

FWIW - another dude i train with did the same thing, full ACL tear and no surgery. He is rolling again after 6 months. Both he and I had no other damage to the knee, which i think is probably an important factor.

Torn ACL, what can I do to keep my skills up?

Hang in there mate, i did mine a bit under 3 months ago - i feel your pain. i've been doing the rehab and it's getting better all the time. Feels ok, definitely not 100%, but not too bad either. However everyone is going to be different and you should do what's right for you. I spoke to a...

Is it just me or Judo is way harder to learn than wrestling?

agree wholeheartedly I've been doing a small amount of judo, 1 to 2 times a week, for about 5 years now (although the last year i've been injured in various ways so lets not count that one) - and i am absolutely shit awful at it. All my competition wins are from newaza, because i've done a lot...

    Gordon Ryan lately…

There's no money in transitioning to the gi, so no real incentive for him to do so (I'd love to see him do it though). MMA, why take the risk? He can just keep dominating no-gi bjj and probably make more money doing it. He seems like he is perfectly content with being the king of the no-gi...

    STARFIELD discussion

i'm unreasonably annoyed that there is a working crack of this game thats been out for a day or two now, and meanwhile I'm not allowed to play it for another couple days because i paid for it lol. Beef up your copy protection bethesda.

Competetive submission grappling/BJJ without needing surgery at some point. Is it possible?

I'm far from high level, but in 20ish years of combined martial arts - the first injury i've had that's going to require surgery was 3 weeks ago. Full ACL tear. TBH i probably dont even need it if i were to quit martial arts and just go on with life. I'm walking fine. I've had a couple where it...

Another gruesome grappling injury. How to avoid those ?

If that's an attempt at Tani Otoshi, that's the worst one i've ever seen. Textbook case of why people call it dangerous. If you don't know the correct way to do it, just don't try ffs. I'm looking at a year off ahead of me with a complete ACL tear atm, knee injuries are no joke. If it happened...

What are you playing? v.9 (Kefka Edition)

After beating Aliens: Dark Descent i couldn't find anything I wanted to play, so I reloaded StarDrive 1 - there are a couple of mods for it that make it less clunky and fix various things, and I have to say - it holds up pretty well.

    Multiplatform Aliens: Dark Descent

yeah i'm playing on PC and i wouldn't want to be using a controller for it. i must have reloaded a save 20 times last night trying to clear this one spot in the mine. Everything i did ended up with swarm and squad wipe. Took me so long to get through, it's a good challenging game.

    Multiplatform Aliens: Dark Descent

I've been playing it a bit and I'm really enjoying it. The stress and swarm mechanics add a whole other dynamic to this type of game. You cant just wail on enemies and try to clear out a level, every time you get in combat the guys get a bit more stressed and eventually you end up with permanent...
