This is exactly what should happen.
We're coming up on 14 months since Jones last fought, with no scheduled fight...and Stipe last fought (in a stoppage loss) over three years ago, with his last win in 2020. Clinging to the idea of Jones-Stipe being a legit HW title fight is beyond ridiculous...
Very debatable. It really depends upon how much weight someone puts on multi-division status vs. title defenses.
I'm firmly in the 'title defenses matter' camp when evaluating accomplishments.
Probably...he might beat up Nate again, but after that I'm not sure what would come next. I'm guessing he is angling for a pay day vs. Jake Paul or some silly shit like that.
No one tunes in to see the end-of-the-bench players in any of the major pro sports either...and yet the minimum salaries in each of those leagues affords those players a good living and the ability to focus full-time on the job at hand.
Netsky is great...I like some of Pendulum's stuff as well. The UKF channels are my 'go to' for drum and bass. I have very eclectic tastes in music too, so I can certainly appreciate *good* pop music (tbh, a favourite album from last year was Lana Del Rey's latest lol).
Since you're a d'n'b...
LOL - absolutely not.
For starters, beating Aspinall = beating the paper champ. He would need to beat Jones and become undisputed to truly have won a 3rd belt.
Second, title defenses definitely matter. Alex had *zero* MW defenses and now has one LHW defense.
That is simply not a "GOAT" resume.
13 artists you'd recommend to your fellow Sherbros, with a clip to sell them.
1. Charles Wesley Godwin
2. Robert Earl Keen - The Road Goes on Forever
3. Black Water Rising (An underrated heavy metal/hard rock band from NYC)
4. Robert Earl Keen - Feelin' Good Again
5. Guided By Voices - The...
Many people are quick to say stuff like this lol...but Alex was likely going to get it anyway, and they just chose to give it to him at a special moment (even if the moment was not related to BJJ).
What ending is greater than that?
I think of Scott Smith's epic KO...or Yair's upward elbow...but this was fucking incredible. Holloway just flatlines Justin in the middle of the cage to close the 5th. Crazy.
