Strange benefit of the doubt being afforded to Sharapova. She's a Russian who got caught on the same shit many of the Russian state-backed dopers were using.

If you don't realize she's been on Putin's sauce from the outset you might be in a Jeff Foxworthy joke.

Because genetics never account for such discrepancies, and doping always does?

She wasn't taking steroids. Doesn't make them any less effective as PEDs. That's why EPO is sort of a big deal, you know.

The eyeball test is laughably ignorant. Sharapova was a cheat who ran from the sport the moment the anti-doping authorities caught up to her. So she's not only a cheat, but she's a coward. She won't even try to play without her drugs, and she knows she has a bunch of hormonal, gooey-eyed fans who can lie to themselves in perpetuity so long as she doesn't risk her legacy trying to game the system to maintain her artificial level.

It goes without saying that genetic variation is a factor. It also goes without saying that Serena naturally has a greater potential for adding lean mass to her frame. And I don't know what exactly they're allegedly on, but it's perfectly obvious that if they are both on anabolics, the amounts they're on aren't close to being comparable. The discrepancy is simply too great, for what is(more or less) and apples-to-apples comparison.
