He was paid a high base-salary for a reason, it was generally accepted that Bisping would never become champion. Hell, the majority accepted that he wouldn't even ever fight for the title. The UFC knew it, the fans knew it, hell even Bisping knew it.
He was never going to get ppv cuts but at the same time he has done a lot for the company, so they made sure to pay him well.
Now all of a sudden, double plot-twist: Bisping beats Anderson, then gets booked as a replacement with 2 weeks notice to fight the champ, and by some insanity- he won. easy. 1st round KO.
He's the champ, he's getting those ppv points now. Can't blame him at all for looking for the biggest money fights. This is most likely his only shot ever at getting ppv bonuses.
He sure as hell isn't going to push for a fight with Jacare that would probably end up being a Fox/FS1 fight... he's looking for that one big ppv payday, and sure enough- he's calling out for the biggest possible payday in a fight with GSP.
