Hahahah this is embarassing he's beaten a load of top level guys. He'd have every chance of knocking out tony, khabib, lee, gaethje and has already knocked out poirier and alvarez.
He beat Aldo and Diaz (who is 1-1). So, he has beaten one Top Level guy, Jose Aldo. And that is a "load"? LOL
Don't talk to me about middle of the pack Dustin Poirier, 3-1 Eddie Alvarez, and short-notice fight Chad Mendes.
Max was 3-2 when he fought Conor, that is not a "Top Level" record. Then you have Marcus Brimage (3-0, better record than Max Holloway LOL), Diego Brendao, and Denis Siver.
This is Conor's UFC record. A bunch of 3-and-something fighters, an old guy on his way out, a middle of the pack fighter (Dustin Poirier), two short-notice opponents (and he lost one of them, LOL), and one Greatest To Date fighter (Jose Aldo).
I am not drinking his hype Kool-Aid. The only thing that Conor has proven to me is that, on any given night, he can beat a 3-and-Something in the UFC fighter.
He has yet to prove that he can consistently beat Top Level guys on full camp training. This is why we doubters want to see him fight. We want to see him prove himself.
If Conor had proven himself, the only people who would be anxious for his return would be his fanboys. The rest of us reasonable MMA fans would have said, "you know what, Conor beat wrestlers, BJJ specialists, strikers, wrestler boxers, lay-n-prayers, and everybody in between. He made his money, and he wants to sail into the sunset. We are okay with that."
But since he hasn't done this, there is a lot of unresolved tension. We know the guy is talented, but he hasn't shown enough to be in the same conversations as GSP, Anderson Silva, Jon Jones and Demetrious Johnson. Yet, his fans continue to insist he is on that level, and it is super annoying, because they are vicariously living through his financial success, and use it as a springboard to propel him onto a level of competition he has yet to achieve.
Defend or Vacate. LOL
