I've been on there as long as you. I never noticed him until recently.

That being said I'm not super active. Usually just go around looking for the latest news and rumors along with follow that Cletus fellow who cracks me up with his trolling.

Not to sound like a pessimist, but the photograph that accompanies the Intermat article regarding the program getting cut shows empty seats in the arena.

It's an appropriate photograph that demonstrates that wrestling programs are being cut due to not bringing in money, rather than "It's Title IX's fault!!!"

The cynic in me simply excuses this action because college sports are not about educational opportunities, but bringing in $$$$$.

Most NCAA sports aren't revenue generators. Only Football and Basketball are.

But these non revenue sports relatively cheap to fund and hopefully the coach is active in collecting donations (I've read that Dean Rockwell left the school an Endowment) to minimize costs.

D1 Football is a very expensive sport when it isn't generating revenue (which it isn't at EMU).

I’m 80% sure I know who Cletus is.. it’s between about 4 people and he might be a DI head coach. If he’s actually from Tennessee like he says

It’s because his humor is so subtle. Flap has a lot of truth in what he posts but he’s over the top. So you more so focus on the ridiculous stuff he says. Cletus mixes it up with a humours quip and then true analysis or facts.

I miss the old days on that board.
 
I pretty much ignore any thread or post by DF or Mudflap.

As a side note, since we were talking about coaches, one of my old coaches' son is wrestling in the Pittsburgh Wrestling Classic this weekend.

Thoughts on forfeiting a match? Today there were two instances of this happening.

Both were in the finals at Dan Kolov at 86kg and 97kg. Baitsiev and Naifonov both got gold because their teammates (two other Ossetians) fought their way into the finals and had to face each other.

I don't mind seeing people forfeit due to injury, but if not: wrestle!

I can't believe how crazy they got over on themat on Kyle Snyder possibility going to WWE. I've read the Brock Lesnar had a $250K contract his first year right out of college in the WWE. How many HC can say they made that much especially in 2002.

EDIT: Geez, now one poster is comparing being a WWE wrestler to being a porn star lol. They sound just as insecure as the guys up in the Heavies when somebody brings up Pro wrestling lol

Took him down with 7 seconds left for W. Fun match with a lot of good scrambles.
