This is a sign of the coming long-term cost of the Trump Effect which terrifies me, the feared endgame explaining why I despise the man so much, and why I have tried to warn center-right and moderate Republicans against him; the idea of a charismatic mid-30's socialist who is as rhetorically irresponsible and dishonest as Trump coming to power when the pendulum swings, who decries legitimate criticism from FOX as fake news, and has every other outlet to back his lie, as well as Academia, Hollywood, and Silicon Valley.

But....Trump is doing so much better than I expected this year-- and at this point in his Presidency-- in terms of approval, and renegotiating inured partisan borders that divide Republicans and Democrats, that this concern is slowly alleviating. As Ben Shapiro said in his recent interview with Rogan, I am reassured by the efficacy of the checks and balances on the Executive.

Trump is also one of the only political leaders I have ever seen who will try something drastic and bold, with genuine endgame ambition, and after it pisses everyone off, will back off with his hands up, like, "Okay, we won't do that. I'll try something else."

I am less certain than ever about the shape of the future.

I’ve served my country as a firefighter, paramedic, and registered nurse. I’ve volunteered for aid after Hurricane Katrina and was deployed to fight wildfires in California.

I am going to run for Mayor one day. I actually went to school originally for Political Science and got my bachelors to try to become a lobbyist for pharmaceuticals, guns, alcohol, or smoking.

Nothing is free. Telling Americans that more of their taxes should be used to provide every American with basic healthcare and higher education is more patriotic. Americans should care about Americans, not slash things that benefit us and call your countrymen leeches. That's unpatriotic.

Literally every single other first world nation on the planet has a national healthcare system. It is anything but a unicorn and will cost trillions less than our current system, so it should be a conservative's wet dream. Many other first world nations have free (yes, I know, taxes, but you know what I mean) college as well. Here we have socialism and bailouts for the wealthy, and fuck you for everyone else. Pretty easy to follow the numbers.

It's also not hard to see how a more affordable, universal healthcare system and affordable education would benefit a country. More people being educated is not a bad thing.

Dissent =/= lack of patriotism. They aren't mutually exclusive and in fact our country was built on dissent. Some of the greatest movements were based on dissent, like giving women the right to vote, ending segregation, etc.

On the Trump part you're sort of right, but the context is different. She is working class, lives in her district, and better relates to the people. Trump is a racist, sexist, xenophobic, lying conman who has went back on basically everything he said he'd do (his platform was actually somewhat populist, which contributed to him winning areas like the rust belt), including protecting medicare. He even stated he was for a universal healthcare system once. He's dog shit, they're not comparable.

she's a democratic socialist, which is a mixture of both.... its a system the rest of the western world uses. Its not the same as straight up socialism
