A fighter you supported then had to drop because they went nuts

Thiago Silva was the first fighter that made me do a total 180. Went from being a big fan to just not caring

The strangest part to me is how he ended up fighting in the first place. Wasn't he Kimo's spiritual adviser or some shit? Made up his own martial art JoeSonDo or some shit....
I could be talking out my ass, it's been a while since I watched early UFCs...

But Kimo lost to Royce. If it weren't for the fact he outweighed Royce by a good 40lbs of juice it wouldn't have even been competitive. But somehow that's how both those two got any camera time. Early MMA was a strange time.

Yes you are correct, Joe Son was Kimo's "spiritual advisor", they both made a terrible mistake by carrying/dragging a 200llb wooden cross through the crowd to the cage, burning out their muscles even before their fights began.

The Bible banging Kimo made a second costly error by sporting an 80's So. Cal porno ponytail which Royce grabbed and rabbit punched him bloody until he fed Royce his arm which a spent Royce happily took and submitted him before exiting the tournament due to injury and exhaustion.

Without that ponytail, Kimo would have been well positioned to give Royce "a nice Hawaiian Punch" and might have changed mma forever.

Thank God for 200lb crosses and porno ponytails.

When we going to see this fight rampage vs a door? Need proper rules here. Did usada test that door?

it's hard (unpossible?) to out-crazy mayhem or paulo filho.

BJ Penn not because he went nuts but because he got fucking lazy and complacent.

Bisping I was a huge fan, liked his style and thought his trash talk was funny and was super happy for him when he looked like a legit top 5 MW against Silva and Rockhold (he was lighting Rockhold up the entire fight) but after he won the title and avoided the top Mw's like the plague and the absured shit he talked I started to hate the guy.
But to be fair I feel like his age caught up to him in the Hendo fight, he probably knew he couldn't compete anymore.

Borrowed time in the home stretch. Got to pick your spots in stoppage time.

Ronda Rousey. Her abilities decreased as her ego increased. Hell of a combo.

Want a more obscure example? Hermes Franca. Exciting LW turned child rapist

I used to be the biggest fan of Tito Ortiz. It originates back to -03 when I saw his fight against Ken Shamrock, I liked his style of finishing fights and the "swagger" he had, talking shit (lame yes but the times were also different) and the battle they had between the gyms. Not to say he was the first but his videos from fight camps in the Big Bear really caught my attention and were extremely educational inside look how he trained. He was no doubt one of the pioneers when it came to dedicating your life to training professionally, even if it did not pay that good in the beginning. He did have a few brutal losses to Chuck and Machida, but he always came on weight and fought. Yes the crying in every press conference was annoying as well as Dana shitting on him all the time, but that is just life and it definitely was not a reason to stop being a fan. But the one thing that really got on my nerves was his personal opinions and politics. Might sound stupid since he is a fighter and you watch him fight, not talk, but the shit he was spewing was just too much. Usually, you should not mix politics with fighting but when some is an ass you really can't be a fan anymore.

R.I.P Tito, pic when he was still the Bad Boy.

Bonnar
Couple months ago finally realized hes just a dick

Like some of you said, I used to love Jones. Found a highlight of him when he was 2-0 in the UFC (just before his fight against O'Brien I think) and I said ok he's the next big thing. I was amazed by what he did to Stephan Bonnar.

Then around the Shogun/Rampage fight his personality started to unfold, and I began to dislike him more and more.

I used to be a fan of Jon Jones, before I ever heard him talk. Sometime before the Shogun fight I think it was. I started hating him with how arrogant he was, his fake Christianity, then of course all of his bad behavior and multiple failed tests.
So much cock. Cock guy.

Went off Aldo a bit with how he handled the loss to McGregor. He's still a legend, but he lost his aura

Conor McGregor, I liked him up till that stupid ass bus incident. im sure there are other ways to promote a fight besides injuring unrelated fighters and talking shit about someone's country/family

Is there though? It sold 2.4 million, no mma fighter has gotten close to those numbers by being respectful. Conor is a business man simply giving the fans what they want.
