A West Point Grad Wrote 'Communism Will Win' in His Cap

Hypothetically 1 month 21 days deployed
RFS
No proof of air assault in records
And quit Ranger School

Well objectively yeah it is better. Rather they shit in the streets than starve in them.

You are right. "He completed the Ranger Assessment and Selection Process, and received an assignment to A Co., 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. He received his "Ranger Scroll" in 2011." He should have gone straight into Ranger school. He probably did got to the school and was 'peered out'. That would make sense.

I never understood why the 75th Ranger Regiment accepts soldiers who are not Ranger tabbed already. It is the reverse of being assigned to a U.S. Army Special Forces unit. For assignment into SF you need to already be Airborne qualified and have the Special Forces tab. Same with the U.S. Navy SEALs.
You typically spend a year or so before they send you to Ranger School.

Some further information about young man tucked into this story about his West Point teacher now being on admin leave.

West Point Professor Who Mentored Antifa Soldier on Administrative Leave

The West Point mentor of a soldier now under investigation by the Army for engaging in political activity while in uniform is on administrative leave, Breitbart News has learned.
The adviser is Rasheed Hosein, a professor of Middle East history, who was in charge of Second Lieutenant Spenser Rapone’s development at West Point.

(Credit: usma.edu staff biography)

A West Point spokesman confirmed he is on administrative leave, but said it is unrelated to Rapone.

“We are unable to provide information regarding administrative actions but can confirm that the details are unrelated to 2nd Lieutenant Rapone,” the spokesman said.

At West Point, Hosein had mentored Rapone. The two apparently traveled together to India together in 2014, and maintained a close relationship until Rapone graduated in May 2016.

Also during that time, Rapone’s Facebook posts grew increasingly radical and leftist.

Rapone’s activities caught the attention of command authorities this week after he posted photos of himself in his West Point uniform while promoting communism on social media.

On Sunday, Rapone posted a picture of himself in his West Point uniform holding a sign that said “Communism will win” tucked under his cover, or hat, raising a clenched left-fist.

He tweeted the photo along with the words #VeteransForKaepernick — a reference to football player Colin Kaepernick, the first player to kneel during the national anthem at a football game to protest racism.

On Monday, Rapone tweeted another picture of himself in his West Point uniform, exposing a Che Guavara t-shirt underneath with the caption: “In case there was any lingering doubt, hasta la victoria siempre.”

It is against Army regulations to wear the uniform “in connection with the furtherance of any political or commercial interests” or when participating in “public demonstrations” unless authorized to do so.

After the photo garnered widespread attention on Twitter, West Point quickly issued a statement distancing itself from Rapone.

“The U.S. Military Academy strives to develop leaders who internalize the academy’s motto of Duty, Honor, Country, and who live the Army values. Second Lieutenant Rapone’s actions in no way reflect the values of the U.S. Military Academy or the U.S. Army,” it said.

“As figures of public trust, members of the military must exhibit exemplary conduct, and are prohibited from engaging in certain expressions of political speech in uniform,” it said.

“The appropriate Command authorities are reviewing the situation,” an Army spokesman told Breitbart News.

The Army confirmed that Rapone graduated from West Point in 2016, and is now serving as a second lieutenant with the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, based in Fort Drum, New York.

The unit issued its own statement that focused on uniform regulations.

“Both the Department of Defense and the Army have long-standing policies encouraging soldiers to participate in the democratic process. However, the Army has strict rules regarding the wear and appearance of Army uniforms.”

Rapone’s activism while in uniform appears to be much broader than those two photos.

On August 7, Rapone posted a photo on his Instagram account of himself in his Army uniform, wearing a Democratic Socialists of America Membership nametag that says “official socialist organizer.”

Rapone’s Instagram account was taken down Tuesday evening.

Rapone has also Tweeted a number of provocative statements, including calling Defense Secretary Jim Mattis “the most vile, evil f*ck in the current administration” on June 7 from Columbus, Georgia.

A spokeswoman for the 10th Mountain Division confirmed to Breitbart News that Rapone had started Ranger School at Fort Benning, Georgia — near Columbus — in February 2017, but did not complete the course.

On February 11, he posted an article titled “Know Your (Gun) Rights! A Primer for Radicals — IT’S GOING DOWN.” He also reposted a meme from a group called Anarchist People of Color criticizing “white privilege.”

Rapone has also posted on several forums in support of Chelsea Manning, the Army soldier who went to jail for leaking classified intelligence to Wikileaks. He posted January 18 on Facebook: “May we all learn from her example of what integrity and strength of conviction truly entails.”

Sometime last year, he posted on Instagram a picture of an Antifa flag in his room, next to a print of Che Guavara. “New room decor…until it’s flying proudly in the streets. #AntiFa,” he wrote, according to a picture obtained before he took down his account.

Rapone has also posted on Facebook a picture of himself holding up the Communist Manifesto, with his Army dress uniform hanging in the closet in the background, and a number of posts showing opposition for Trump policies and administration officials, and support for Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) at least since 2015.

His father, a local official for Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, issued his own statement, disavowing his son’s political views.

“In regards to my son Spenser Rapone, I disavow his political views and overall politics. I am very disappointed in the direction he has chosen and as his father it greatly saddens me,” Richard L. Rapone posted on his Facebook page.

“As a young man, Spenser personified patriotism and in high school was a member of the Civil Air Patrol. He applied to be a West Point cadet and at that time he as not selected. He enlisted in the United States Army right out of high school. Later, he served as an Army Ranger and was deployed to Afghanistan on special mission.

“He applied once again to West Point and was accepted. It’s my belief when he returned back from Afghanistan there was a notable difference in his political views. Spenser is my son and I love him dearly however I do not like nor condone his politics, his actions or behavior,” he said.

The elder Rapone’s Facebook page has been taken down, as of Wednesday.

According to photos on Rapone’s Facebook page, he became close to Hosein, a Ph.D. in Islamic history from the University of Chicago. The two appear to have traveled together to the Taj Mahal together in March 2014, according to pictures posted to his Facebook page.

On March 18, 2014, Hosein posted on his Facebook page: “Back from the Taj [Mahal] and it delivered.” Two days later, on March 20, 2104, Hosein posted a picture of himself, wearing a long tunic, and Rapone, wearing a turban and a long tunic, with the caption: “The brothers are gonna work it out.”

On March 23, 2014, Rapone posted about anti-corporatism and racism. On March 24, 2014, Rapone posted a picture of himself and Hosein in front of the Taj Mahal.

Later that year, on August 19, 2014, Rapone posted a picture that showed them in a classroom with another soldier. “The Intelligentsia,” the caption read. Hosein was tagged in the picture, suggesting they were Facebook friends at the time.

A review of Rapone’s Facebook page shows that over time, since 2014, his posts became increasingly anti-racism, anti-Israel, pro-Muslim, pro-Communist, anti-military, and anti-police.

On January 5, 2015, he posted a Slate.com article calling for the abolishment of West Point. As a Facebook friend since 2014, Hosein would have been aware of Rapone’s Facebook postings between 2014 and when he graduated in 2016. A search of Rapone’s page shows they are still Facebook friends.

Hosein’s bio on the West Point website lists Rapone as one of two cadets he last advised at West Point.

Hosein began teaching at West Point in July 2011. Previously, he served as the director of Public Education for the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Chicago.

He was also Muslim Lay Chaplain at West Point, Officer in Charge of the Muslim Cadet Association, and Emeritus Facility Adviser of Phi Alpha Theta, a national history honor society which Rapone was a member of, according to a photo.

Hosein brought Phi Alpha Theta members, including Rapone, to Orlando, Florida for a national conference in February 2016.

According to popularmilitary.com, Rapone, 25, from New Castle, Pennsylvania, first enlisted in the Army in 2010, and was assigned to Fort Benning for basic training and infantry training.

He completed Airborne school and a rigorous Ranger Assessment and Selection Program, and was assigned to the 1st Ranger Battalion in Savannah, Georgia. He then deployed to Afghanistan, where he earned a combat infantryman badge.

He completed Air Assault School, and then applied successfully for West Point.

So, the young man's Middle Eastern studies teacher and mentor is now on leave. Although they say it's not in regards to the young man, I wonder if it has to do with something similar. Anyway, I found it interesting.

Can you tell me more about this picture in India when did this happen?
Happened during the Bengal Famine in 1942.

Bengal had a poor harvest that year due to poor rain. However, the cause was not truly less rain. Much of the grain produced in India was shipped out of India for Europe(remember, WWII was going on). Merchants in India also horded to sell it at its peak price(profit motive ladies and gentlemen).

Churchill, the PM, was notified of the famine but refused to do much about it because he hated Indians and knew they were going to be independent soon. So he prioritized sending food from the Empire elsewhere such as stockpiling it in Greece in case of future invasions. Even the US president asked him to do something and he said "Nah". And something like 3-4 million Indians starved during just that one year.

Funny thing is, given we're talking about communism in practice and its death toll, one of the ideological pillars of the late British Empire was "free trade". The Bengal famine of 1942 was not the only such famine in India during colonial rule. Before British rule there were roughly 17 famines in all of recorded Indian history and during it there were 31. So you could blame those deaths on capitalism. What, that's not true capitalism? Gee that sounds familiar, right @Falsedawn?

Meh. The millions of Indians who starved to death was irrelevant to Churchill because it had no effect on the War. I guarantee you the vast majority of British people would probably have shared Churchill's indifference.

The Empire was Capitilism in it's purest form. Indians, Africans, Chinese etc were not regarded so much as people. More assets of varying degrees of worth. And disposable once they ceased to be of value.

Ah, the glory days pass you by, in the wink of a young girl's eye!:)

Buy a better PC, bitch. Because, <{poor?}>
Haha dude no one can read your images because you don't know how to post them. How many years have you been posting here man? Someone even explained to you how to do it and yet you still fuck up. Learn how to internet then get back to me.

Right so as far as I'm concerned the guy's not much different from Stalin. Hell, I respect the Soviets more. The English went crying to the Americans to save them. On the other hand, no one sacrificed more to stop the Nazis than the Soviets. A whole generation of men were thrown at the Nazi war machine with their greatest ally being winter, those were true men. Not the pussy ingrate English men whose army had more Indians than Britons and needed their cousins across the pond to save them. Such damsels and they have the gall to hold their heads high afterwards as if they mattered.

There was no big three, just mah man FDR and comrade Stalin.

Partition of India genocide in 1947.

Why do Brits love starving people? Wasn't it that during the Irish Potato Famine the Queen refuse to received foreign aid?

Anyway thanks for the reply and I will read more about this famine.

Well to be fair to the Russians and Indians, they made excellent cannon fodder. One doesn't buy a dog then bark one's self, old boy;)

As for the Cousins, while their part in winning the war cannot be overstated, the fact remains they were perfectly happy to sit on the bench until they were sucker-punched by the Japanese. They got in the game because after Pearl they really had no choice. It wasn't out of the kindness of their hearts:rolleyes:

You better be thankful the Japanese did what they did or you'd be speaking German right now. Then again, at least you Scots would've been colonized by a superior people because we know you'd take it lying down as you always have. Can't even throw off the shackles of the English, the Germans would've had you dogs trained like a Shepard in no time!

Lol, even Hitler, who was far from a military genuis, knew that Operation Sea Lion(the invasion of the UK)was a non starter as soon as the Luftwaffe got KTFO in the Battle of Britain. Without air superiority, the Royal Navy and RAF would have sent the Kreigsmarine to the bottom of the Channel. Along with hundreds of thousands of Wehrmacht soldiers.

Hitler's plan was to wipe out Russia and then, with no allies left to us, hope we would negotiate a surrender. As military decisions go, this is up there with, "Let's prop up the South Vietnamese against the North. What's the worst that can happen?"

And remember this: your God Emperor is half-Scottish. So mind your manners, boy;)

It looks like the army is going punish this guy for demonstrating at his West Point graduation. I just don't understand why you would throw it all away after 4 years. Maybe he wanted to have a reason to get out. What say you War Room should this soldier be punished for standing with Kapernick?

http://www.newsweek.com/conservatives-mad-socialist-pro-kaepernick-west-point-grad-671915

Unless you’ve been living without TV or internet access for the last week, you may have noticed that a national discussion on race and politics has re-entered the NFL (as well as the president’s mouth), and that culture warriors from both the left and right are again lobbing verbal and social media grenades over the protest movement first started by quarterback Colin Kaepernick in August 2016.

Within that culture war, smaller battles have taken root, and perhaps no better example of that exists than the case of Spenser Rapone, a 2016 West Point grad and current second lieutenant in the U.S. Army. Rapone on Tuesday tweeted the hashtag #VeteransForKaepernick with a photo of himself from his graduation ceremony, holding up his left fist while in uniform.

Sounds like the kind of thing that would rile up the right, yes? It went further. In the photo, Rapone is holding out his cap, and the words “COMMUNISM WILL WIN” are seen written on the lining with what looks like a Sharpie.

Conservatives erupted with rage, and the dust up—which has forced West Point to issue a statement condemning the tweet, saying that “Rapone's actions in no way reflect the values of the U.S. Military Academy or the U.S. Army”—helps to sum up just how polarized and surreal online politics have become in the age of President Donald Trump.

Right-leaning social media users started poring over Rapone’s social media history, looking for further evidence of his leftist politics, and much was found, including memes supporting revolutionary political theorists Karl Marx and Vladimir Lenin. (It’s hardly uncommon to find tributes to Marx and Lenin in left-leaning social media circles, but to people on the other side of the debate, their faces often elicit shock.)

Rapone, sensing the growing tension around the post, decided to poke the proverbial bear by tweeting a second picture from his graduation, one in which he’s opening his uniform to reveal the image of Marxist revolutionary Che Guevara emblazoned on a T-shirt.

Far-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones ran an article about Rapone on one of his websites, and the people used the comments section to call for leftists to be killed.

“Communists, socialists, Antifa, BLM, NFL kneelers, and Kaepernick. Anti-Americans,” a user named ‘Globalists_vs_locals’ writes.

Another user named ‘Seth’ responds by saying, “yes kill them all.”

Another article about Rapone by conservative blogger Jim Hoft on his website The Gateway Pundit has already racked up more than 700 comments, some of them also calling for Rapone to be killed.

“He should be shot for sedition,” a commenter named Toro writes. “If he gets deployed, his teammates should push him into fire.”

The statement issued by West Point is gentler than the criticism Rapone received online, but indicates that he could be facing a punishment of some kind for issuing the tweet.

“As figures of public trust, members of the military must exhibit exemplary conduct, and are prohibited from engaging in certain expressions of political speech in uniform,” the statement reads. “Second Lieutenant Rapone's chain of command is aware of his actions and is looking into the matter.”

For his part, Rapone has not responded to the controversy, but he is not joking when it comes to his political views. The West Point graduate is a member of democratic socialists of America (DSA), a group that boasts an impressive rise in membership since Trump’s election, and now claims to be the largest socialist organization in the U.S. Socialists have responded to conservatives by retweeting the image posted by Rapone, and calling him brave and an "inspiration."

DSA has regional and issue-based subsections and chapters, and Rapone is a member of DSA’s Veterans Working Group, which “seeks to provide a conduit for veterans and adjacent communities to connect together to fight for our shared goals: enacting a democratic socialist society committed to racial, economic, social, environmental, gender, religious and disability rights justice,” according to a spokesperson.

The spokesperson also offered support to Rapone in a statement.

“Spenser Rapone is our comrade and we fully support, defend, and encourage him to take whatever steps he sees necessary to express his political beliefs and continue to organize towards a socialist future,” the statement said

I love how this is being turned into something that is angering just "The Right". Only naive idiots think that Communism, especially Che Guevara's brand of Communism, is affective in any way. They should throw the book at this kid, and make such a devastaingly brutal example out of him that idiots like him don't pull crap like this ever again.
