Sage - Close to failed but still draws above average
McGregor - Court is still in session whether he got the UFC push or he self-marketed himself

... but now let's talk about people who didn't get the UFC push but are naturally marketable? By either fighting skills, funny personality or just raw charisma? Here's some names I came up with:
Kevin Lee - Charisma
Mike Perry - Authenticity
Derrick Lewis - Memes
Zabit - Flashy fighting skills and humble personality

When Aljamain had won three in a row to start his UFC career it seemed like the UFC should have been pushing him marketing-wise. His personality and skills were well-suited for it. He hit a bit of a skid but he didn't seem to get much of a push before that.

Mike Perry gets decent fights and takes place high up on the cards despite being a bum.
Derrick Lewis gets some marketing, but UFC can't commit to him if he folds and performs like shit against higher opponents. Hence UFC making him take steroids in his back to help him.
Zabit - getting preferential treatment with UFC jumping through hoops for the Yair fight; now 3 fights in, he is looking to challenge the top 5 of the division.

Cyborg is actually one of the better draws in wmma (if not the best currently) because dominant fighters with fearsome reputations are always intriguing. What does Watterson bring? She's an aging mother with a 50-50 UFC record who is already declining. Not everyone watches wmma to jerk off.
