This sport is dying! All the rankings are tragic, with maximum 4-5 names in each division and some of them are not even marketable (no real beasts).

The midgets are still living through Asia but notice they aren"t so marketable worldwide. Just in Japan regional promotions now and I totally see the Chinese aren"t interested to go global (Kunlun for example, 0 opening to Europe).

Plus we still don"t have a Kickboxingrec and there are so many titles. If the kickboxing world isn"t united, it"s all dying. We can see the outcome in the Netherlands, and nobody in Europe is willing anymore to invest a lot. Not even Russia. And Glory with this rythm, will create a bit of emulation in America in just 10-15 years.

I am disappointed about China, it"s nothing like former Japan. Andurand and Glory will probably shut down all, then all will move to China. Many European trainers already retired, I am serious.

Kunlun did a event in Russia recently, but it was all MMA.

Wu Linfeng joined forces with Krush like 3 weeks ago and they did a China vs Japan event. And next month they are doing the same with one Romanian promotion.

Next weekend EM Legend is going to New Zealand... Again.... I guess is chinese government money poorly spent.

Glory of Heroes doesn't seem to want anything to do with abroad events since their 2016 fiasco in Brazil. I guess their events in Spain and Portugal were not profitable neither.

It just happens with many things in China, not only with Kickboxing. They are like super busy expanding their huge domestic market, they forget about the world outside.

Kickboxing only needs a new Badr.

Kickboxing needs to die. Too many different rules. Confuses people. Someone needs to make Muay Thai big. It starts with a blockbuster hollywood movie. A big time promoter. Dish out money and promote the crap out of it. The most violent sport in the world. Maybe dont use gloves and use ropes. It needs its own gimick. Something memorable. Most importantly, they must bring over the thais and offer them real money so they have the motivation to come over and fight for them. You cant be the best muay thai promotion when the best fighters are else where. This was the problem with Lion Fight. They had the right idea but who did they have really? Very little.

Don't think the rules is a major issue at all personally, moreso that kickboxings profile in the 90's and 00's was heavily dependant on massive mainstream popularity in Japan that's obviously declined, its popular elsewhere but not to nearly the same degree.

There just isn't the talent base of domestic fighters in the US for the sport to really break though, the hope for have to be for an "American Badr" to break though by himself.

Pretty sure everything that you just proposed has been done in one form or another...

Well even Badr and Manhoef called him the next Badr.
Ibrahim El Bouni is fast, technical and has a devastating knock out in his fists.

Badr is Badr also for the things he made OUTSIDE the ring.
The things he did inside the ring when his opponents were down also counts.

There was something like BoxingRec for Kickboxing back in the 80ies and 90ies. The STAR System Rankings. Paul Maslak produced those and they were published in a magazine called Official Karate. Paul relied on promoters and associations to pass results on to him and he would use the first computerized ranking system to crate a rating system. His rankings were a nice read and I am sure he was as objective as possible. Problem was, the data he received was not complete as they were based on voluntary contributions.

Kickboxing is almost dead, really dead.

Even Glory can't revive the glory days of
K-1 and It's Showtime.

Glory Kickboxing is on a lifeline,

It's gone and almost done :(

Oh no! The Kickboxing landscape would be forever changed without GLORY. What will we do? We will only have Enfusion, EMLegend, K-1, Kunlun Fight, Wu Lin Feng, KRUSH, SUPERKOMBAT, King of Kings, Glory of Heroes, World Fighting League, Bellator Kickboxing, W5, Mix Fight, ACB Kickboxing, Final Fight... and a few more I am forgetting. And let's not forget about stadium Muay Thai, MAX Muay Thai, Super Muay Thai, Thai Fight, the other Muay Thai promotions, Shoot Boxing, the different forms of Karate, and the Sanda World Cup. What a barren landscape we will have when GLORY falls

The idea of a united landscape making the sport better is incredibly backwards; you just end up with the bullshit the UFC does. There are too many rulesets for there to be a unification anyway. This situation is amazing for consumers because you can find many more things tailored to your tastes and then grow your interests from there. Not knowing fighters isn't a sign the sport is dying, it's just a sign that you don't know everything about it. There are tons of killer Kickboxers out there, you just have to go watch them fight instead of complaining about one of the most widespread sports on God's green earth "dying".
