People would have regarded them as highly as Fedor if they never did. They could of stayed in Japan fighting Japanese cans and over the hill UFC fighters and be revered as GOATS.

Before they came to the UFC.
"Shogun is going to destroy Forrest Griffin. He's MWGP champion, young phenom!"
"Wanderlei Silva is going to go berserker mode on Chuck Liddell"
"Crocop is going to run through the heavyweight division. Everyone going to the cemetery"
Rampage, Gomi, Nogueira, Kid Yamamoto. All of them were "superior" to UFC fighters. And we all found out there's a difference between fighting cans and fighting the best fighters in the world.

People say Fedor not joining the UFC is due to terrible management. If anything, Fedor had the greatest management ever. His whole legacy as the "GOAT" was held on to by a very thin thread pulled by good management.

How many Strikeforce champions, Bellator champions, WSOF champions who were thought as the one who can beat current UFC Champion X came to the UFC and never escaped the middle of the pack.

Alternate timeline: If Fedor had joined the UFC. I am sure Fedor is different. Of course if he had joined the UFC he would of destroyed everyone.

Noone thinks that about fedor, he got beat by hendo, bigfoot and werdum who all fought in the ufc. And maldonado knocked him out about 7 times in one fight

That's not true man. He's the heavyweight GOAT. He would of destroyed them. He would destroy Cain, Cormier, and Stipe. No way he wouldn't get KOed by JDS. He's too good. He beat Zulu and Tim Sylvia. He wasn't in his prime when he got KOed by Dan Henderson.

Maybe if you spent more time reading and less time in Sherdog your posts would be better written.

how many times were smaller org champions were discounted as inferior fighters only to quickly destroy the division?

Remember how Strikeforce haters laughed and trolled the fuck out of the HW tournament when Cormier ended up winning it? Now in 2018, he is double champ

HAVE.

The phrase ‘would OF destroyed everyone’ doesn’t have any meaning in English.

Problem is... nobody can convince someone who doesnt want to be convinced.

imho, what you should do: forget about this W/L concept.

Jus´ study the evolution from NHB/Vale Tudo to Modern MMA, and see the techniques displayed by these ATGs, and their opponents´ reactions.

This is the best way to avoid this kind of vain antogonism between eras.

Rampage and Shogun became champ in the ufc. Rampage nor shogun touched gold in pride.. Shogun was already broken by the time he got to the ufc and still beat the overrated ufc champ.

How about:

Alternate timeline: cro cop, shogun and wanderlei come to ufc in their primes and before all their injuries.

Anderson
Rampage
Nog
Werdum
Shogun

All PRIDE fighters who became UFC champs. Hendo, Hunt and Reem all fought for UFC titles and were highly ranked for many many years past their primes. Wanderlei had too much mileage, over 60 fights and many bareknuckle. Cro Cop had over 120 fights and unfortunately had a lot of injuries and surgeries from 2006 onwards.

There are still multiple PRIDE fighters in the UFC top 10, 10 years after PRIDE folded.

Fedor has the 2nd most ranked wins of any HW of all time, only behind Nog who he beat twice. So the cans argument is ridiculous. He has like double the amount of quality wins as Stipe, who uneducated UFC shills were calling the GOAT after beating a few old past prime HW's.

PRIDE and Strikeforce > UFC

Wand had already been double ko'd before coming to the ufc.

what age was he when werdum subbed him, 32? definitely getting on a bit lol

Wasn't Chuck Liddel one of those "cans" who got beat in Pride?

The HW elite during Fedor's prime included Ricco Rodriguez, Sylvia, Arlovski, Mir, and Couture. I think he would have acquitted himself very well against those fighters during that time period, and in fact he defeated three of those names, all in round 1, later in their respective careers.

Still sucks we didn't get Fedor vs Couture.

PRIDE itself would have been better regarded today if that happened, since we wouldn't have seen Crocop and Wanderlei getting beaten repeatedly in the UFC. Also, Rampage, Nogueira, Anderson, et al would still have won belts.

Although Rua did quite well in the UFC.

So in your alternate timeline the UFC would not have the best LHW or HW division.

Did you know that fighting 3 times a year is harder than fighting once every 3 years (Cain).

tbh, Fedor vs Couture is an overrated fantasy match-up imo...

I wouldn't say the greatest management ever, but nor would I say they were terrible. Being considered GOAT hasn't exactly earned him more money than he would have gotten if he was in the UFC, providing he was successful enough in the organisation. I'm sure he is fine financially but it seems to me his management profited while Fedor potentially could have earned more for himself in the UFC. All of this is just speculation of course.
