Meet Patricio Manuel:

Patricio Manuel competed on Saturday as the first out transgender boxer in U.S. history, eventually winning the super-featherweight match against his cisgender opponent.

The 33-year-old Los Angeles native, who competed six years ago in the Olympic trials before transitioning, defeated Hugo Aguilar at a casino in Indio, Calif. After both Manuel and Aguilar got in 12 minutes of hits, judges unanimously awarded Manuel the victory.

Manuel's win was even sweeter considering the prejudice he faced after he began transitioning -- the athlete lost both his coach and training facility upon coming out, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Manuel expressed jubilation at not only his victory, but the opportunity to fight as himself.

“I wouldn’t trade any of it. It was worth everything I went through to get to this point,” Manuel told the Times. “I’m a professional boxer now.”

Even his opponent, Aguilar, expressed support for Manuel. “For me it’s very respectable,” he said. “It doesn’t change anything for me. In the ring he wants to win and I want to win too.”

Manuel, emboldened, said he plans to soon fight again.

Amazing to see. Like a middleweight fighting heavyweights. Congrats to his opponent also for taking it so well and comporting himself like a real man.

Seems unfair because Manuel can take T to juice to higher levels than a natural male.

I don't have any data on that, without it I assume the levels are normal male levels. Do you know of any data to the contrary?

Let's see this dude face Cyborg in boxing

Don't you juice yourself? 'Normal male levels' is a wide range. It's easy to put oneself at the high end of the range and claim you're at a normal level when in fact you have a significant advantage over someone who's in the middle of the average range. Surely you're not arguing that T isn't a performance enhancer..

I believe he's arguing you have no evidence that is happening in this instance.

And I'd it isn't his point, it's mine.

Tbf that looks like a dude a lot more than the other ones I've seen

Lol taking synthetic test isn't going to boost a females levels over those of an actual man.

I used some ostarine for health reasons but that supposedly doesn't increase your testosterone at all.

I don't know what she got her T levels put to but I know it would have to be in normal range for the sanctioning body.

I was wondering what basis you had for your assertions that's all.

A woman on T does not have advantages over males. Cyborg is not cleaning out male division from FW and below.

Maybe OK a lowtier crap shows against ammy's, but that once a women is going to get CTE once she goes up against hard hitting dudes. Her bones aren't on mal levels. This is fucking dangerous and and is service to everyone involved for the sake of political correctness.

May also be unfair to the pasty soyboy men who!just started their training and got their first ammy fight

Just wrong.

If people argue that MtF transgenders can't compete against cis women because they were born with male skeletons and muscles despite being on feminizing estrogen then a roided FtM should be ok under their logic because they were born with female bone structure.

No matter how much she dopes she will never have the same physical advantage of males. FtM in sports seems fair competition wise BUT we should stick to XX fighting XX and so forth. World needs a reset in this bullshit of gender issues, you are born male or female deal with it, if you want to change that accept that you can´t force people to accept crazy peoples games.

Why not?

Idk enough about this stuff, but can't they have as much as they want?

I've always been real excited by any weaker or lighter fighters stepping up to the plate. I don't agree with weight classes or gender divides.

Fighting is about the life or death struggle, red in tooth and claw etc. In my opinion anyway.

That's why I like this shit, it's awesome.
