Haha thanks. I think I learned my lesson the first time I played it last night. I did ok first couple of rounds and then I got greedy and got stomped on. I still don’t know Thor’s best builds, I just copy the ones off of SmiteFire and go with those. At the moment, we’re only playing Joust. I think I just like Thor’s mobility and his ability to escape. But from what I’m reading, if you have a good build for him he can become a power house. He’s a mana hog though.

Do you set you builds up front or do you build during the game? My buddy who showed me the game sets his up on auto-build, but I think that only carries you so far. He’s level 28 and hasn’t looked into his builds at all. The auto build reminds me of an auto combo button in fighting games. Eventually you get blown up for using it.

I put up a wall, slow them with my ice spikes, and then freeze them in place.

People talk a lot about those on YouTube. Some actually suggest to work with harder gods first so the easier ones you can hop right in with, but who knows.

Ok, that makes much more sense now. I’m curious how Joust players use the jungles. I see people that have ‘jungle build only’ or any other type of build that complements the gameplay. I guess I’ll have to look into that. The finance part of the game is a little crazy to me, but that’ll also take some deep diving into. I’ll need to see how much gold you get for different things to level up my player. Eventually we’ll have 5 people to play conquest, but right now it’s just us 3.

Great game but they could've done a little better with balancing out the gods. Some are just so much better than others it's ridiculous.

It’s just one set pre-build assuming you have your pre-build already set up. Looks like you need different builds depending on the matchup and how well/bad you’re doing at the time. Really need to look into how the mechanics of buying/selling work as well. That and how to read Smite’s combo nomenclature.

I played last night and while everyone was around level 12-15 I was still sitting at 10. Also, they really make you grind in this game to play ranked. Level 30 with 10 characters at least level 1 lol? That’s wild.

I did watch some Thor joust gameplay last night and it seems other Thor’s mob the jungle for mana and toss out their hammer through a wall and do his berserker barrage. Seems pretty cool.

Ranked does take a long time to get into and it's hard as hell. People also take it really fucking seriously. I want to start going into ranked again but I don't know I hate hearing people whine cause your new to ranked.

Haha my buddy said the same thing. But at the same time you won’t get the rage quitters you get while playing non-ranked games. Seems like a double edged sword. Sounds like you have a pretty good grip on what items to use during your matches. I’m assuming not every Power items helps warriors/assassins the same and that makes it somewhat confusing to me. I would need to pick out the ones I want for Thor different than the ones I want for Hercules. Somewhat daunting.

Haha thanks for all of your advice. Don't reinvent the wheel if you don't have too. If I've learned anything about Street Fighter it's that you should always steal someone else's tech, or at least give it a shot. Since SFV, the fighting game community has really excelled at sharing information. It wasn't always like that though. Since it's a 1v1 game, having that tech can make or break you assuming the other player doesn't know it.

Just go to smitefire and look up builds people post on their forum. Also someone mentioned power items on warriors, I’d advise putting 3 or 4 defense items and one or two power. Each their own though.

I've actually never played a MOBA but I've watched a lot of DOTA footage and I got as far as installing LOL. I've read this is a first person one so I figured the action would be easier to follow, and screenshots would look cooler.

Looking at that build I actually messed up. I should’ve used brawlers beatstick because the other team had life steal. Not that is really mattered.
