It appears that people seem to think that being in your 20's is way too young to be parent these days(god fuck knows why).

Is it normal for the current generation of people to think that having kids when you are 30+ is the norm?

I have never told anyone this, but in 2010 I donated sperm on 10 occasions.

Could have a few already.

But yeah I'll be an older parent. I imagined I'd have a few by now at 31. All the people I went to school with have a good few.

Kids are expensive and the cost of living is pretty damn high.

I'm 25 and couldn't imagine having kids before I'm 30, but it's likely 35+ or never.

Well I'm 45 so if it does ever happen, I will be a very old parent.

Wanker.

Did you get paid for it? What was it actually like?
Nope. No payment other than reimbursing your petrol or train money. But they make u fill out the paperwork but they will check the mileage to see if you're trying it on or not.

No, they expect people to donate now purely To Help couples who cannot conceive naturally.

The first time, a nurse takes u for an all over physical. Then a sperm sample and blood test. If you have ever smoked you are automaticly out! Anything found in your DNA which can be passed on to offspring and your out.

After this first sample for testing, you agree to come another ten times for donations. If you're in the clear, that's it.

I guess its priorities then, why would cost of living come into why you would want to have a child?

Yeh it's becoming normal..especially in people that are successful

I was 28 when we had our first one and 31 when we had our second. I would have been younger but we had a miscarriage before the first one and before the second.

I’m 52 and my son is 26. Some of my friends are dealing with young kids and teenagers while in their 50s, while my wife and I have been empty nesters for 5 years. Our son is married and doing well financially, so we’re enjoying our best earning years with the cost of raising kids and paying for university well behind us.

At the end of the day there are advantages to doing it either way, but having kids early on has worked really well for us. Sure we were dealing with a newborn while our friends were partying, but I am glad we did it this way.

My wife and I were both 45 when we became parents for the first time. 35 would’ve been the perfect age for me, but I’ll take what I can get. He’s 2 1/2 now and it’s been the most awesome time of my life.

Um you have to be older than your children unless you have mastered safe and efficient time traveling

Seriously? If you are just making ends meet then having a kid is the dumbest thing you could possibly do for both your life and your kid's life. Poor people do that all the time and it's a major reason why they stay poor forever.

For me, it's maybe not so much about money as it is time: I'm currently working on my post-graduate degree for a career that will also require a licensing exam, on top of the typical climbing the ranks via actually working. If I were to have a kid I'd be a deadbeat parent because I wouldn't have any time to dedicate towards them right now or for the foreseeable future.

If I’m fortunate to have kids it will be this decade. I’m 30 now.

I’ll be 50 when my kid turns 18. I don’t want to be any older than that once my child becomes an adult. Hence, I’ll likely not have any more children.

For men, I’d always recommend 32-38. For women I’d recommend 24-30

100% of what's in your DNA can be passed on to offspring. You sure you went to a sperm bank, and not just some seedy guy with a cup?

Seemed legit. He said i had a good physique.

No seriously. What I meant to say was the blood test shows any diseases Etc.

Age wise I will be an "older parent", but I've kept myself well, so I'm not worried about it one bit.

Just ribbing you. Been through something similar though. It's one of the most disturbing experiences I've had.

Here's a cup, now go into this small room with a stash of porn that's been manhandled by hundreds of other guys who had their penis in their hand.

Well that explains why a disproportionate percentage of the UK youth are out there touching people with teh jab
