Quite a straight forward question for an official Census(an official count or survey, especially of a population.)

Apparently an offensive one, so offensive that we will likely be removing that question from the next UK census to please a handful of confused individuals. Let's neglect the importance of gender data for health purposes, amongst many other things so that we may not offend some people?
