Ariel Helwani holds Twitter Poll - Interesting results.

And Woodley still hasn't shown anything to suggest a rematch would be any different

So? You can argue it’s one bad stylistic matchup for woodley

However if you compare them to the rest of the division woodley is much better

Beat lawler (Rory lost twice)

Beat wonderman (Rory got beat up)

Did better vs Maia

Aside from obliterating actual top WWs that have beat Rory? Rory barely survived Lima. Its obvious Tyron has improved and Rory is stagnant/worse.

And its closer to 4 years ago.

So Lawlor and...

Because the Thompson fights were a draw and a terrible decision they gifted Woodley.

And the only way Woodley is beating Lima is the same way Rory did. Hold him on the mat for 3/5 rounds otherwise he chews Woodley up just as bad if not worse standing up

The only thing Woodley obliterated was the entertainment in his last few fights, he wouldnt even be a champion at this point with better scoring system....that draw was BS.

Maybe but he wouldn't be 1 leg kick away from getting finished.

And yes, Lawler and Thompson, who both beat Rory and ran him out of the UFC...lost to Woodley.

You cant talk about entertainment while defending Rory MacDonald lol

"beat wonder boy". I mean on paper sure. In reality it was a draw and a borderline robbery over two fights. I'll concede it was better than Rory did but it wasn't exactly a dominating win

And meh. Rory got taken down unlike Woodley but Rory hurt Maia more than Woodley did. And had that fight gone 5 rounds he probably would have finished Maia who was badly hurt to the body and gassing hard. Against Woodley Maia was never going to win, but he was also always going to survive

Better scoring system?

You mean system even more point fighting friendly?

In 50 minutes of fighting wb didn’t put woodley in any real danger ONCE, but yeah he “won” those fights

His beating of Woodley sure it was entertaining....

Rory vs Daley? Submission win, Rory vs Lima? That fight was pretty decent 5 round war, Woodley's last decent fight was against Wonderboy and he got a gifted decision, he lost that one 3-2.

What is interesting? Everyone knows Khabib is a better fighter than McGregor and probably everyone in the world at LW.

10-8 comes from boxing, they have 12 rounds, not 5, it encourages draws, like that one, let alone on 3 rounds fights.

Lima was a snoozefest. And what you just did for Rory you can do for Tyron too.

Tyron vs Lawler?
Tyron vs Koscheck?
Tyron vs Stun Gun?

If you want to believe that a guy who came in with point fighting plan n never put his opponent in any real danger “won”, good for you, but let’s stick with what actually happen instead of hypotheticals

Woodley beat top guys of the division

While Rory got beat by them

What’s next? Is struve beat hw as well?

Conor Mcgregor 39%

Well, it's a litmus test from Ariel's followers, but it doesn't mean anything more than that. Likely a Sherdog poll would be different. ... or any other poll from a different fan-base. It's all subjective... but you can't deny the fact that they are both on top of their game.

That said... the Rory thing is the most questionable due to MMAth. Lawler crippled Rory... & Woodley KO'ed Lawler. n stuff.

Woodley literally beat the shit outta him in that round.

Did wAy more in that portion of the round than wb did in 2 fights combined

Any sensible scoring system you use woodley won or at worse it’s a draw, which means woodley keeps the belt.

Still better than clearly getting your ass kick by wb 50-45

Score them on damage "just look at his face" system then, was he dominant on one round? yes, but not even the judges agreed on which round it was!! but they agreed on one thing tho....WB won 3-2, but because of the 10-8's they scored it ended up being a draw, its a flawed system to do 10-8 on 5 round fights, score on who won rounds, he didnt stop it? then he just won the round.
