I dont mind elbows. Its the no knees, upkicks that make it dumb.

I remember when fighters on the bottom use to use their heels to hit body of the guy on top but they made those illegal too.

I'll say that the wrestling culture brought weight cutting over to MMA which hurts it imo but elbows are awesome to me.

People are just lucky they don't allow knees to the head of a grounded opponent or wrestlers would have have even more success then they currently do.

I prefer no elbows to the head on the ground because it sometimes stalls the action a bit and cause cuts, but I don't think it's that significant.

I do absolutely loathe that MMA in the US doesn't have knees to the head of downed opponents.

None of this, however, should be blamed on wrestling imo.
