BELLATOR 106: CHANDLER VS ALVAREZ II 7PM ET Prelims/9PM ET MAIN CARD DISCUSSION

King Mo gassed at the end of round one. That's what happened.

I actually think they should keep Chandler away from Alvarez until Alvarez' contract is up (I think it's 1 defense, 2 at most). Because if they fight once more and Chandler loses, then what? Eddie leaves, and they have the embarrassment of knowing the guy who will probably win the belt now (Chandler) lost twice to the guy going to the UFC.

Too much risk. Just wait til Eddie's gone, Chandler will get the belt back, they'll be 1-1. No shame in that. Use the time to let Chandler destroy a couple of other guys who can't hang with him, give him some more highlight footage for his promos.

This guy knows what's up.
If Eddie beat Chandler again, then left the promotion as champion (after Jansen and Brooks had both been kept waiting due to the rubber-match), it'd be even more disastrous.

Chandler in the next tournament. Alvarez vs. Jansen, then Eddie can leave.

they use the same fucking judges. the athletic commission assigns the judges not the org.

Some people are amazing, aren't they.

So desperate to want to believe Bellator is better than the UFC, they'll even claim the judges are better as though Bjorn specifically picked these fuckers to judge the fight.

Great card. Mo/Newton got sloppy during round 3, and Riggs put on a pretty disappointing performance against Bronzoulis especially considering Riggs had only won by decision 3 times prior in 39 wins.. but other than that, great card. Curran vs. Straus was good but people wanted to see Curran blaze the guy so they were disappointed. Undercard was great. Everything other than rounds 4 & 5 of Mo/Newton and Riggs/Bronzoulis were solid.

It looked like his game plan was jab, close the distance, put Newton on his ass.

Yeah dude, I heard his corner say that too but if you actually watch the fight he abandoned that after getting mixed results with it. Then he just would come in, throw one shot, back out. No sense of urgency or not trying to adapt or anything.

He looked like he was just trying to coast instead of trying to win. He may have of been gassed too.

None of this matters if Bellator can't figure out how to keep their biggest stars interested in fighting for them instead of the UFC. Lombard, Askren, Alvarez...

It didn't really matter who won between Chandler vs Alvarez. If Chandler wins the rubber match, it just buys them a few years then he starts talking about jumping ship too.
