They have spent more than they have received, sounds like a loss. Judging by the way business is going they will make it back and than some.

I know it's just me being annoying about semantics but still.

By that theory ever single investment ever is a loss as you expended resources and did not receive a immediate return. A loss in business (at its simplest form) is when your expenditures are higher than your revenue (not profit). Even then losses are acceptable if you have capital to back them up and ride out the low points.
