Betting Questions

Lemonzest, count your lucky stars that 5D won't take your credit card. NEVER EVER give 5Dimes or any other sportsbook your credit card number! There have been way too many reports of fraud with bookies, especially 5Dimes not protecting your personal information. Secondly, Moneygram used to be a decent way to fund your account, it is how I funded mine back in the day by getting cash from an ATM and sending it at the Moneygram counter at a local grocery store to some random in Costa Rica or wherever, but such an antiquated method limits your ability to get paid much at a time since they have small limits to get paid out the same way. Bitcoin is by far the best way to go nowadays.

@iGnP @LEMONZEST I second all of this. I funded my account with Bitcoin exclusively from the start and I've had no issues.

I was about to PM you. A couple of pages earlier there were talks of people having issues withdrawing when they were using BTC. Any idea they ran into issues and you havent?

I think it depends on the case, but my feeling is that they don't like when you've funded your account using other sources and then request BTC withdrawls. 100% of my deposits have been through Bitcoin.

The other factor I believe is that I'm not nearly as profitable as some others on here at this point. I've only been gambling consistently on MMA for about 2 years now. It remains to be seen how they'll treat me if I ever start winning larger amounts.

Is money gram the best way to fund your 5dimes account?

@EzFlyer

dude i don't even know anymore.. my last deposit was made in early 2015.. i have taken a ton of payouts since then, usually via moneygram.. but at the start of 2017 i started making BTC withdrawals until they cut me off from them and labeled me a "BTC" abuser

long story short, after NUMEROUS phonecalls, emails, etc.. they have agreed to let me take $ out via checks instead of just moneygram. so far, so good. got my first one last week within 3 days of request.

if i was to deposit again, i would do it via moneygram, in all likelihood... but i can't speak to whether or not that's the best option. if you do bitcoin stuff and/or plan to request bitcoin payouts, i'd ask them if you could become bitcoin exclusive and deposit that way. but get something in writing is my advice if you do so, cause of the crap i've had to deal with

If it's not too much trouble, could you link me to your posts earlier walking someone through the process of what to do if you wanna go the BTC route, please? <3

I think a lot of that info is kind of out of date this point, but here's a similar article to what I posted before: https://www.safestbettingsites.com/...bitcoin-online-gambling-sites-step-step-guide. I know some people have had issues with Coinbase banning them, so you should definitely use an intermediary wallet if you decide to go that route. The other option is to use a different exchange, a lot of people like LocalBitcoins.

This Reddit thread also has some decent info: https://www.reddit.com/r/sportsbook/comments/61367m/how_do_you_guys_withdraw_via_bitcoin/

On another note, I'm no Bitcoin expert, but it sounds like there are some technical changes coming August 1st which may freeze things temporarily. I'd suggest waiting until that shakes itself out before jumping in. Good luck.

I came in here to comment on that. Got a note from 5d when I logged in today about a 72 hour window where they are freezing btc? Wtf is going on. I need bitcoin to stay

I'm not the best person to explain this by a long shot but my understanding is that Bitcoin may "hardfork", which basically means split into two different versions. I have no idea what effect this may have on the value of BTC.

I don't think there's anything to worry about if your money is already in your 5d account and converted to USD. I assume we'll still be able to deposit/withdraw as normal after things get resolved. But if you have any significant amount of BTC in an exchange it might be a good idea to get it out of there before August 1st.

How do new lines get opened at Betfair? Can I offer odds for any scheduled fight or what?

This is it. For 5d if you want to withdraw using BTC then you should deposit using BTC otherwise they will get grumpy after a couple transactions. I deposited initially with cc and then withdrew several times with BTC and they kinda got pissy. I simply explained that next time I deposit I will use BTC and that seemed to placate them.

Hi guys, i recently moved to missouri and would like to place a bet on the fight tonight. Is it even legal in this state and what is the most legit website nowadays? i normally dont bet on stuff but tonight i figure what the hell! :)

Hella late response on this (sorry), but for future reference, you shouldn't have issues signing up in your state, but I'd recommend depositing and withdrawing via bitcoin if there are any legal issues with websites down the line.

Most people here seem to use 5dimes. They're among the first to put up lines and will usually have any kind of prop bet you'd want. I use Bovada personally, much better website layout imo and bonus options, but can be late on lines (especially props)

yeah whenever they can be bothered to list the fights you can offer odds or request odds at whatever price you want for however much. you can get much better lines than bookmakers sometimes. you can msg betfair to put new markets up also, I do it all the time on twitter.
liquidity is low for mma leading up to the fights compared to matchbook but there's a lot more near the start of the event, and then you can also request and offer odds for or against an outcome in-play which is the only place in the world that does so for the whole fight.

What funding methods does Betfair support?

the usuals: paypal/skrill, credit/debit cards and bank transfers. cards are the best, for some reason they take a fee for paypal deposits so I only use my card.

I'm looking for the best sports betting website, any suggestions?

Perfect! Canada has the best options IMO. Your top 3 choices would be 5Dimes, Bet365, and Pinnacle. Each have their own perks and if you can I'd suggest using all 3. 5Dimes are often first to release lines and offer the widest selection of props. Bet365 offers the best livebetting experience of any book I've seen, allowing you to bet during the rounds rather than just in between rounds like most books. Pinnacle has the least juice of any book, never limits, and accepts large wagers.

Thank you very much for the reply,

I've read extremely bad reviews on

Bet365: https://ca.trustpilot.com/review/www.bet365.com

On the other hand, I've read pretty good reviews Betway.

What's your take on this? Thank you.
