Canelo has outsold the UFC in PPV buys this year

Actually YOU are the one that made Mayweather come out of retirement.
Actually conor mcgregor is the bigger star than mayweather or canelo...check twitter followers, instagram ect ect.
The genuine public prefers mcgregor.

Not surprised. UFC has been declining badly and its getting worse and worse. No stars and nothing really stands out, lots of very low-level amateurish MMA in UFC these days too. Look at some of the cards, its beyond bad some of them. There was some womens fight in UFC only a few months ago where it was 6-5 vs 4-4 MMA records.. I'm sorry but this is not elite MMA, its very low level. Its barely fit enough for the dark bouts of King of the Cage events.

No hes not. Instragram means nothing.
Canelo has more people watch him in Mexico than watch Conor fight in the UFC globally

Boxing has a long history. It has a larger worldwide audience. And there are some new stars in the sport who are truly skilled.

Not surprising. Looking forward to some more big PPVs. GGG got robbed against Canelo, but I'm 100% with a rematch happening.

Yes exactly and nobody cares here, same with boxing ppvs.
They had bigger viewers on TV than the UFC did.
Pacquiao-Horn peaked at 4.4m viewers averaged 3.1m for the whole bout
Garcia-Thurman peaked at 5.1m viewers and averaged 3.74m for the whole bout.
The UFC had Four FOX shows and two of them didnt even average 2m. The other two barely did.
So, boxing certainly is more popular than the UFC.

Boxing surrounding and starving the UFC like the Nazis did at Leningrad, Xyience and Corn nut rations will only last so long.

And? Like I said who cares? Why fans should care about things like that? You just compared sport discipline to one organization....

You mean boxing and Mayweather has outsold the UFC and Canelo.

In 2016 five UFC PPV's hit a million+ and Boxing had none. It just depends on the timing.

No it depends on the matchmaking. And right now, the UFC's is utter shit.

They put so much weight in Conor, they gifted him a belt and let him keep it hostage, that it actually cost them more money in the long-run this year. If that Lightweight belt was being fought for we could have had two defenses this year. And Conor could have still done his little boxing sideshow.

UFC Pittsburgh was free + way more entertaining, I was watching Mike Perry decapitate a man after a crazy night of exciting finishes while all the suckers who bought the GGG Canelo fight were complaining about the rigged decision.

The only surprise is how low the ppv for canelo vs ggg was, figured it would do at least two miles.

Boxing does great for the superfights and ufc needs to start making ppv main events of a similar level to increase buys

yep. ufc sold out to boxing for a quick buck. Unfortunately their biggest star got embarrassed and it exposed the ufc.

The least they could do now is strip Conor of the belt (hasn't it been 11 months w/o a defense?), and do Nate-Conor 3 like they want to. While having Tony defend the belt, possibly against Khabib or whoever else steps up to the plate. Instead, they'll probably choose between Tony-Conor or Conor-Nate, and we know which one they're going to go with.

UFC is a joke, only the trash talkers get fights. While in boxing the guys like Mayweather indeed are the biggest starts/earners, English or trash-talking skills are certainly NOT the requirement for matchups. Guys like Pac have no problem being stars without the hype talk, or the guys from Eastern Europe or Latin America.

UFC doesn't feel like a sport, people should just stop equating it with MMA as if UFC champs are the champs of MMA. Guys like Conor and Brock get gift title-shots without even being ranked! The non-shit talkers have such an uphill battle just to get a title shot. And while Cerrone fights 10 main cards in a year, other entertaining fighters ACTUAL PROSPECTS are relegated to prelims.

canelo doesnt have a demetrious johnson disadvantage

Though to be honest, most of the PBC televised cards have been flops with a few exceptions. Horrible matchmaking from them with unentertaining cards. They have multiple champs on their roster, but wont even do unification bouts!

Besides the shitty WMMA, which are often unentertaining and feature fighters with poor records. The good fighters get pushed to the prelims so fewer and fewer people watch them. It seems they're so desperate to find the next Ronda and trying to get one of the females to stick to the audience, they fail to realize the men that could have been bigger stars had they just gotten that same exposure.

just wait for a couple of months when MMA is bigger than soccer than do this comparison
