I am a Charlo fan, establishing that right now. I'm not offended if you aren't.
I've liked the Charlo brothers ever since their callout of K9 Bundrage. This was the first interview I saw them in, and I was all in with the Charlos.
On to the point.
At first I was pissy about Charlo and GGG being ordered instead of Charlo and Canelo. Why? GGG is no longer holding the belt. Why does he get a shot at GGG now that he's beltless? I felt they were giving Charlo the short end on what he deserved. Making a trilogy of back to back to back fights seemed to be a bigger consideration, and on peoples' minds. Charlo is the WBC interim after a devastating second round KO of Centeno Jr!!!
I see it like this now:
If Charlo beats GGG, more convincingly than Canelo did, Canelo will have no excuse but to fight the man. It will be like when Pacquiao was on Floyd's tail beating guys in better fashion than Floyd did (Hatton, De La Hoya). Forget about all that money, and promotion talk, let the man fight for what he earned. If Charlo beats GGG, what more can you say? Canelo has to play ball.
