Nancy's in Chicagoland son - way underrated. They actually created the stuffed pizza.

Everyone's talking Lou malnatis but Nancy's is the bomb.

I know the Paleses as well, they're good people.
 
i dont think ive ever had authentic versions of either but i'll go NY cuz of the vastly superior pepperoni/cheese to wedge ratio. Chicago too doughy for me.

NY Pizza is Costco pizza which got me through high school.

Chicago pizza is good but looks like Korean food.
 
New York. Chicago pizza is pretty easy to make at home.
 
Chicago style pizza is thin crust pizza. you are thinking of deep dish.

Chicago is far more known for deep dish than it's thin crust. The vast majority of comparisons for Chicago vs. New York pizza are talking about Chicago's deep dish.
 
Spent a lot of time in both places. NYC by far. I just don't like deep dish

I've never heard anyone in Chicago, or from Chicago, refer to "deep dish pizza" as "Chicago pizza". They might, but I've never heard it. It's always, "deep dish pizza".

Any time someone in Chicago says "Chicago Pizza" it mean the thin crust pizza with crispier than normal crust, that think is made with butter. That's my experience. I've been chastised by Chicagoans for referring to deep dish as "chicago pizza".

FWIW - Lou Malnati's and Giordano's both refer to them as "thin crust" or "Deep dish". Neither calls them "Chicago style pizza".

Maybe someone from Chicago can weigh in.

I really didn't like deep dish in chicago. I'll do ribs and burgers over deep dish
