Hi everyone,

may I please ask you a question? I have a friend who has a hip got injuried in a tournament. Someone put him in the de la riva x guard and really stretched him out. The injury has become debilitating over time to the point that it even hurts him to train.

I feel bad about it and I want to help him.
Have you ever known anybody with a similar injury? Do you think that it is treatable?

He needs to get treatment, rehab, and rest.

That makes sense. :)

Do you think it sounds like a labral tear, because when you get stretched out in x guard, it seems like it would affect that labrum? Or do you think it is something like buritis?

I have an ongoing hip problem. It just appeared one day after doing a full seminar on the turtle position. I presume something happened as I was turtled up for a lot of the seminar.
Ive been on and off to specialist , waiting on more scans to see.
No one seems to know the problem yet.
Your friend needs to get checked out. That's the only way to know.
Im literally in pain for 2 weeks after I do 1 training session now. Really gets you down when I love the sport. Im determined that I can overcome it though.
PS I have taken months off and then tried to resume and the problem still persists. So tried the resting up part but it still was agony once I cooled down after the last time I trained.

I've had a variety of hip issues. It could be a labral tear, scarring in the muscles, tendinitis, or arthritis. He needs to take a few weeks' serious rest, and if it still hurts see a doctor.

Have you been checked out for femoroacetabular impingement? Mine became symptomatic very suddenly.

HGH, homeopathic pills, alphabrain and some kettlebell swings and he'll be back in no time! Make sure to rub his whole body with coconut oil twice a day too.
