Come back to the mid 90's with me

My very first experience with MMA was when the very first UFC aired. I was 9 at the time and my neighbor had a hot box so whenever there was a big boxing match we'd go over there. Just so happens this time I go over and UFC 1 was airing live. The one thing that stands out about that night was when Teila Tuli was kicked in the face by Gerard Gordeau while on the ground. I remember that and the Gracie vs Shamrock fight. Don't remember much else until I ended up rewatching it some years later when I became a big of MMA. My second viewing dusted off the fogginess of first time I watched and. I began to remember the event and then near halfway through I remember exactly the rest of it happened

Who remembers Beakmans World. Is what such a zany show that taught you science

Always loved the notchback.

I was blown away by Reservoir Dogs, so I was jonesing for anything Tarentino....
Still my favorite Tarentino film... though he only scripted it..
Tony Scott directed it

The lineup of stars is mind boggling...

Tarantino produced that film, he didn't direct. That may be why it's better than any of the films he did direct. I agree it's an awesome film. It really showed Gary Oldman's range too. Dude is super talented.

The 90's were my salad days. Bought UFC 2 on VHS from HMV in Oxford first "ultimate fighting' event I ever watched.

Remember feeling totally let down by the poor showing by the dude representing the Ninja arts- who got wrecked in short order.

Loaned the tape to a friend, who never returned it, the bastard.

Also this point fighting Karate guy, who had a real bad night too.

UFC 2 was my introduction to the UFC too. I was thoroughly entertained, but I agree they probably could have chosen a better Ninja representative. Fred Ettish (bottom pic) was the brunt of a lot of jokes for many years. He he didn't fight his second MMA fight until 2009, but he won it.

Zac Morris was the star of the show, he had everything going for him to become a major star on TV even on movies maybe....however after 20+ years Mario Lopez has been the one who still keeps a good career on the media going. I guess he was smarter with the jobs he took or maybe he was a harder worker. Zac Morris (Mark...something, geez thats how popular he is I dont even rememeber his name) participates on B roles on B TV series and pilots... the biggest thing he has done in 20 years was possibly that impersonation of Zac Morris he did on Jimmy Fallon. Zac Morris wouldnt be proud

Zack was a schemer who always wanted to make a quick buck instead of actually working hard for it though. Im sure Mark Paul Gosselar makes enough to get by while not having to be a real, working actor on set 300 days a year so I would counter that Zack would in fact be proud

lol mario lopez is basically a tv gossip whore. he'd suck a dick on camera or murder a homeless guy if he thought it'd get him a job hosting fuckin american idol or some shit.

MPG at least went on to a fairly ok acting career in tv. he had a number of shows of moderate success, which is more than a lot of people in hollywood get. happy endings was actually a really funny show but got cut short unfortunately. that could've end up being a huge success though, it had a real cult following to it.

there's really no comparison, zac morris was better than shit idiot AC slater on saved by the bell, and he still is.

wheres my high school gf and her boobs? tahts about all i remember from taht time period. and smoking weed out of soda cans with holes punched in them. and my ford escort.

How grand was Mel Gibson in Braveheart. Even with the atrocious accent.
Mid 90's was just heartthrobs galore.

MK3 was a major part of my life at that time. Flipping through magazines getting as much information as possible. When it finally arrived at the arcades and later to sega genesis I was never more excited. I later learned the marketing for MK3 was basically military precision on my brain at the time.

Read the post you're quoting before you quote it.

Yep, I got confused because in my original post (that he quoted) I specifically said that Tony Scott directed it. When I scanned it and saw Reservoir Dogs, I jumped to the conclusion. He was actually referring to True Romance. Tarentino did not produce it. He did script it.

Too bad you didn't catch any of that. Low hanging fruit I presume.

Prince Rockhard in an Funky Place (from 1994)
Uuu honey ahm scared of u! lmao
Prince made an already great decade sooo much sweeter.Rip

For some time now, I've believed that the 12 years from 89 until 01 9/11 were the Golden Age of Humanity: lots of great cultural events, the world seemed to be getting better, terrorism, immigration and global warming weren't huge deals. Social mores were still strong nd society was fairly cohesive. We were all shocked by Christina Aguilera in chaps and panties.

I'd love to live those 12 years again, what would you miss from now? I could do without social media, but I guess gaming has gotten better and porn is free and abundant, lol. If I could have my consciousness from now, I'd appreciate all the fun stuff coming out then without being all indie and uptight like I was back then, *sigh*.
