Conor Mcgregor exposed boxing

On his professional debut he fought the greatest of his generation who had retired twice before with a longer layoff in one of them and landed more shots on him than all but 3 of his 49 previous opponents.

Between a school teacher beating the piss out of Manny and now this, Boxing has been badly exposed!

Only thing that was exposed here was pillowfist's mythical "power." The rest was expected: shitty boxing, shitty footwork, mcgasser, mcquitter, and then the excuses.

Dude is now a concussed bum with a damaged chin. He'll never be the same.

Absolutely agreed, that really is the only thing that was exposed. The mythical "Touch of death" his retarded groupies kept banging on about. And that includes Rogan.

"The touch of death! He only needs to touch Floyd once with that left hand!".

In a weird way. Both sports were exposed. An exceptionally talented mma boxer can last a few rounds against top level boxers. And boxers showed that there is a clear gulf in class between boxers and mma fighters, especially the longer the fight goes on. A different type of boxer might have seriously hurt Conor. If floyd would have cut off the ring the fight might have ended sooner.

Still Conor was impressive and made many people eat crow. He landed powerful shots against one of the greatest boxers of all time. hung in there for 10 rounds all without having a single pro-boxing match. Both sports were exposed.

He did zero damage to a man much smaller and older than him and he got finished. How is that exposed?

He exposed himself.
No power, got walked down by a man he said was too small and brittle fisted. Said hed ko him in 10 seconds. He got his ass beat and kod by a guy who hadnt kod anyone in tirty years.

Why you lie?
He never said he's gonna KO him in 10 seconds.

After far exceeding what anyone expected Conor Mcgregor has exposed boxing as the "C" class sport it is.

He literally landed over 20% more significant shots than the then no.2 pound for pound Manny Pacquiao, in less time.

Max Kellerman HBO's boxing expert said he wouldn't land 1 shot and Jim Lampley (who swears by compbox) said it was a joke of a fight. If it was a joke how did he land so many more shots than 9 previous Mayweather opponents who went the distance with him.

Considering this was Mcgregors first ever fight in boxing against the greatest in the sport then we can only conclude that boxing is a weak sport with C class athletes. Its not even an NCAA sport!

How did Conor land more shots than most of Floyd's opponents?

A. Mayweather didn't respect his power and so didn't fight as cautiously as usual.

B. Mayweather walked him down and gave him a target.

C. Conor landed exactly one semi-hard semi-clean shot the entire fight.

D. Conor stopped throwing hard shots and started playing patty-cake just in an effort to touch Floyd.

Like that.

It was a joke how many times Mayweather turned his back to McGregor to stop the attack of which Mayweather had no answer for.

When you fight like Mayweather did it is because you cannot beat your opponent while they have energy still. It is because you can only beat that person if they are exhausted. Oh well, it's a strategy and two people in a fight can't both do it or you won't have anyone throw a punch.

Didn't happen a single time. I challenge you to find a gif or even just find the round and minute in the fight when Floyd turn his back on Conor. Go ahead. Watch the exchanges where you think that happens. Look at the directions that Floyd and Conor are facing when the exchange begins. Look at the way they're facing once Conor is behind Floyd. See which one is facing a different direction at the end.

(Hint: It isn't Floyd.)

Lol at all of these people who are jealous of Conor. Most cringeworthy haters in all of sports

It was a joke of a fight. If you see it any other way, then Floyd conned you, too.

he looked like literal shit, and mayweather decided to take him out when he did.
As soon as mayweather tried, his was straight domination. Power punch after power punch
40 year old no power mayweather looked like prime mike tyson in there.

Conor was a complete joke, and couldnt land anything signifigant the whole fight

I dont think he 'exposed' boxing. Look at Kevin Lee vs some bum at Money's Gym: he got REKT.....same with Diaz vs Henry, Luke and Mo vs some other bums at TMT Gym, Silva vs bum at Wild Card, etc... Rather, I think we just learned how good Conor's boxing was and reiterated the reasons why he is the only champ champ in UFC history.

It was obvious for quite some time that modern top MMA fighters are world class strikers, first and foremost. Modern MMA is striking with a bit of grappling. Only boxing fans were making those stupid threads about striking in MMA being bad.

I think the only thing really exposed was people thinking that boxing and mma had zero cross over and this would be like Tiger Woods trying to play for the Yankees. There's obviously is some cross over depending on the mma fighter and the fact that Conor landed anything last night showed guys like Kellerman that he was dead wrong.

That said while Conor was awkward he wasn't able to show some completely new style thats going to take over boxing. From a competitive standpoint this fight probably should have been strictly a exhibition with modified rules(I thought 12 rounds initially would be a death sentence for McGregor but he did better than I thought)
Crossover is one sided in this case. Good MMA fighter can be a boxer with little to no additional training but not the other way around.

Only thing he did was expose how much more he can make in boxing. He doesn’t belong in the ring w/ pros. Who the fuck rabbit punches the back of the head. Idiot Conor has a lot to learn
