In reality Stipe did the best he could, but DC was just too good. You are basically trying to wash the fight as a fluke, so that you dont have to admit that you were terribly wrong. It looks like you didn't learn anything, because of your own ego. Stop blaming Stipe for your own shortcomings.

Just like everyone thought they will walk through Stipe, and mostly because of that approach they failed and have been destroyed by Stipe,
DC knew he will had the same 'chance' against Stipe if he will not take him seriously , and unfortunately he didn't .

Since the announcement of the fight I think DC was hoping Stipe will see him as many other fighters did - smaller , and ready to be crushed , just like most fighters had attitude against Stipe,
'he's good, but not to good for me' .

Result of that kidn of Stipe's approach is first round KO for Cormier .

Stipe has been able to do well in the HW division still only training part time he still is a firefighter.....

Maybe .....just maybe......he should train full time especially against one of his toughest matchups in his career.

Dc got him and likely would beat him again.
