The commission clears the fighters, not the UFC. The onus is on the commission.
 
Dana is just doing this so when Hunt's case gets to court which claims UFC had disreguard to MH health multiple times matching him against steroid freaks Dana can point to this. DW doesnt give a shit about anyone. Money only.

In a way it does seem that Hunt was implying fighting in the UFC gives him brain damage. Not to mention knocking on the quality of UFC opponents he fought who has tested positive.

To save face and to get back at him, Dana took him off an event hosted in his country. Regardless of what retarded injuries statements fighters say, if the Docs clear you to fight then it isn't anybody else call except when it's politics

Right but when someone openly admits that he is having serious issues and is 43 fucking years old and has been fighting pro fror 20 then ya it needs to be addressed .

Fighters say untrue things about their condition, all of the time. And the GSP comparisons are legitimate and worse, yet Dana isn't pulling him.

It's the commissions job to clear the fighters. They have great doctors with great equipment. So if the commission approved him, he is good and the onus is on them.

If fighters want to fight until they are brain dead, as long as the commission clears them, thats perfectly fine.

I mean, why does it matter? We are all born, we live and then we die. He might not care how he ends up, simply because he loves fighting and wants to do what he loves. What's the point in living life, if you can't do what you love to do?

This is an unwinnable argument for you. I don't believe in controlling the lives of other people. This is clearly revenge. Now if the commission doctors said something is wrong with him, then ok. But that has not happened
 
It’s weird that they pulled Hunt for some pretty mild statements. From the Australia card nonetheless. Sounds like they don’t want to pay out that 800k or whatever he gets to show

There are dozens of international cards where the UFC has to act as its own commission since there isn't a local regulatory body.

This is the reason Marc Ratner is an executive in the company - its a very important position.

So it is misguided to say 'the onus is on the commission' because in part, the UFC itself may act as the commission throughout the course of their schedule. Further, working for the UFC is a privilege, not a right, and they can set whatever standard of health requirements they like, above and beyond the regional medicals of the commissions they commonly work with.

This is common sense.

if the ufc sent him into that cage after that letter hunt wrote, they could be legally liable.

if the fighter is openly, publicly stating that he has slurred speech, memory loss and sleep problems, he is waving a huge red flag about brain damage and cte....

do you see all the shit the nfl is going through right now.....

from a legal and financial standpoint, it was the right move to pull him.....if he fights in that condition, he could make the case that the medical evaluations are substandard or that the prootion didnt care about his health.....given that mark hunt isnt afraid to sue, they couldnt take the chance.....

Whats kinda funny is if the UFC had left him on the card, there would be threads all over saying 'UFC lets fighters compete with brain damage' and 'UFC only cares about profits, not giving fighters adequate medical screenings'

From WME's perspective, they are legally protecting themselves and protecting the medical screening costs from becoming more expensive in the long run.....

While i dont think pulling him was 'sour grapes', i sure as hell dont believe that its because they care about athlete well-being.....

This is just to avoid liability.....no sports organization that take 85%+ of the revenue for guys to beat the shit out of eachother actually cares about them more than a profit tool.....
