Should feel safe and will be safe are two different thingsSo I was listening to the radio in the background, and a statement catches my ear.
Quote: "A women should be able to walk down a dark alley, at night, in a bikini, and feel safe."
Do you agree with this statement?
I dont agree, because I wouldn't feel safe walking down a dark alley, at night, wearing a bikini, or just pants too I guess.

Yep.That's because you're not an evolutionary dead end. If you don't have a sense of heightened awareness walking down a dark corridor full of hiding places, mostly naked, then your genes aren't doing the next gen any favours. But then I also look both ways before crossing the street, so what do I know.
lol where the fuck do u live where u have to act like this bruhI'm not walking down a dark alley at night by myself, even if I'm armed.

Of course they SHOULD be, but until we eliminate human beings, it will never really be that way. Just the reality of things.
Brb constructing a dark alley.
Men are much less likely to be the victim of sexual assault outside of a prison environment. I think that's relevant and I don't see why you wouldn't strive to reduce that. Doesn't mean you have to ignore the dangers.

Is it fair to make this about sex, when no one would feel safe in that scenario?
Common sense is a fucked up position to take? Why would anyone argue they shouldn't be safe? That's a really fucked up position to take.
We do not live in a perfect world. The expectation of being safe in the scenario in question is naive. They should be safe means it is a situation to strive for. An ideal goal. As a matter of principle and as a society we should take that position.
*Heads over to Home Depot for bricks, mortar and... cheap labor*If you build it, the girls wearing bikinis will come

I would think a woman is more safe than a man based off the fact that they're less likely to be victims of virtually every violent crime with the exception of rape.Would you say a woman is more or less safe walking at night than a man, regardless of what she's wearing?
